04 Project: Point.Line.Plane Professor: Charles Rudolph This exercise began a sequence of exploratory activites in the realm of abstraction invovling photography, drawing and model making. Each part involved translation and iteration. Sought exciting and intriguing examples in the category of point.

06 Project: Cubist Painting as Landscape Professor: Charles Rudolph Constructed a new visual order based on George Braque’s 1909 Le Port d’hiver. The goal was to translate the “spatial workings” of a two-dimensional painting into a three-dimensional architecural construct.

08 Project: Corner Park Professor: Charles Rudolph

Using a “kit-of-parts, explored the limits of creating and defining space. Created a calm oasis in a busy city paying close attention to thresholds and horizontal passages within the overall composition. Considered hinges and joints as spatial conditions in relationship to the overall corner of the block.

10 Project: Musician’s House Professor: Charles Rudolph Creating a “wall house” from the vertically oriented corner park and placed within the Cubist painting landscape the house for a musician was born. Responded to the context and site plan in developing the project’s program and interior and exterior spatial sequence.

Project: Homage to Al Held Professor: Harris Dimitropoulos Used Rhino to create an architectually-layered space using simple objects and rendered in color to pay homage to Al Held’s geometric abstractions. Inspired from Libeskinds’ “Micromegas” drawings.

24 Project: GT Stinger Bus Stop Professor: Charles Rudolph

Detail 2

Designed a prototype bus stop/shelter for the Stinger service on the Georgia Tech campus that would allow seating, light and a variety of iternations. Prototype featured the architectural and tectonic qualities of frame construction and was inspired by the Mazzanti canopy project in Medellin, Colombia.

26 Project: Concrete Pavillon Professor: Charles Rudolph Designed a small pavillon structure located in a park understanding the concept of formwork and reinforcing material in the sitecast concrete construction process. Considered site design issues and constraints such as drainage, erosion, and cut/fill.
