Accident Insurance

You have the option to purchase Accident Insurance with Guardian. Benefits are paid directly to you based on a flat schedule when an accident occurs off the job. Some examples of covered accidents include: fracture, dislocation, burn, concussion, coma, torn cartilage in knee, laceration, broken tooth, eye injury, ambulance, hospital admission, paralysis and dismemberment, as well as an accidental death benefit. If you cover yourself you can also purchase coverage for a spouse and/or children. There is a $50 wellness benefit for completing certain routine wellness screenings once per insured per calendar year. The policy is portable; you can take it with you when leaving employment by notifying Guardian within 30 days. Rates are located in the Beacon enrollment portal and are based on level of coverage.

Coverage is designed to help employees offset the financial effects of a catastrophic illness with a lump sum benefit if an insured is diagnosed with a covered critical illness (including cancer). The critical illness benefit is based on the amount of coverage in effect on the date of diagnosis of a critical illness or the date treatment is received. If you cover yourself, your spouse and/or children also receive a benefit. There is a $50 wellness benefit for completing certain routine wellness screenings once per insured per calendar year. The policy is portable; you can take it with you when leaving employment by notifying Guardian within 30 days. There is a pre-existing-12 month look back period, 12-month exclusion period. Rates are located in the Beacon enrollment portal and are based on age and tobacco use.

Hospital Indemnity Insurance

You have the option to purchase Hospital Indemnity Insurance through Guardian. Coverage provides financial protection for covered members by paying a benefit due to hospitalization. Indemnity lump sum benefits are paid directly to the member based on the amount of coverage listed in the plan design, regardless of the actual cost of treatment. This plan helps members with deductible-related expenses on their medical plan. If you cover yourself you can also purchase coverage for a spouse and/or children. There is a pre-existing-12 month look back period, 12month exclusion period. There is a $50 wellness benefit for completing certain routine wellness screenings once per insured per calendar year.
