SOFTWARE SOLUTIONS 2023 NBAA-BACE Updates Dassault Aviation Introduces a new flight planning tool: FalconWays Falcon pilots can now select the most fuel efficient route and reduce excess fuel carried using updated global wind data, optimization and performance model-specific algorithms. The new tool, FalconWays, will be offered as a flight app on Dassault’s FalconSphere iPad electronic flightbag and is compatible with Jeppesen and Universal flight planning tools. FalconWays was evaluated over a campaign of long flights between the U.S. and Europe and across Asia, as well as in numerous simulations. During actual flights using FalconWays, crews were able to reduce fuel consumption up to seven percent. Falcon jets equipped with SATCOM can update FalconWays database en-route on long flights to further optimize the trajectory. Vertical and lateral trajectory optimization can be carried out before or during the flight. The new app will be first roll out on the new Falcon 6X set to enter service in the coming weeks. The app will be available on the Falcon 8X early next year, on the 7X before the end of 2024 and Falcon 2000LXS/S by early 2025.
UAS International Trip Support announces inclusion in the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Reimbursable Services Program (RSP)

As a member of the U.S. CBP RSP, UAS can now request and pay for CBP overtime services at approved U.S. entry ports where the hours of operation are limited. This enhances operational flexibility and efficiency for UAS clients by empowering flights from overseas to directly reach their preferred destination on their preferred schedule, rather than being bound by CBP’s designated hours. Inclusion in this program gives UAS the leverage and qualifications to be considered for overtime clearance requests that are outside of the standard posted hours. Airports where UAS can provide this service include: ▪ Boston Logan International Airport (KBOS) ▪ Brown Field Municipal Airport, San Diego (KSDM) ▪ O’Hare International Airport, Chicago (KORD) ▪ Indianapolis International Airport (KIND) ▪ JFK International Airport, New York (KJFK) ▪ Charles B. Wheeler Airport, Kansas City, Missouri (KMKC) ▪ Los Angeles International Airport (KLAX) ▪ Nashville International Airport (KBNA) ▪ Newark Liberty International Airport (KEWR) ▪ Batton International Airport, Wisconsin (KRAC) ▪ Teterboro Airport, New Jersey (KTEB) ▪ Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport, Alaska (PANC)

ForeFlight announces upcoming oceanic plotting and fleet tracking capabilities. The addition of these upcoming capabilities will enhance ForeFlight’s position as the all-in-one solution for Business Aviation. Oceanic Plotting will build on top of ForeFlight’s existing Active Navlog product, released in May 2023, and will be integrated with ForeFlight Dispatch. The combination of Active Navlog and Dispatch will together enable fully paperless oceanic plotting directly in ForeFlight Mobile, allowing operators to eliminate the use of paper charts for oceanic plotting and record-keeping. As with the base Active Navlog product, performance estimates are automatically recalculated during the flight as pilots record time and fuel actuals at each waypoint. Fleet Tracking enables operators to monitor their fleet’s live flight status to help ensure on-time operations and early detection of potential schedule disruptions. It will be tightly integrated with ForeFlight Dispatch, giving operators the ability to see the live status of all tracked flights directly in Dispatch’s Flights List. Operators will also have access to a dedicated Fleet Tracking page on ForeFlight Web that includes an interactive map displaying the positions and statuses of all tracked aircraft.
