Gelli Printing

Gelli Plate Printing uses a gelatin plate to press to fabric or paper. The process is easy as the ink or paint is put on the Gelli surface, spread out with a brayer then a variety of stencils and other textural objects can be placed on the Gelli plate, removed and pressed on the fabric or paper. For this workshop, the students will be printing onto artist trading cards.
Artist Trading Cards
Artist trading cards are 2.5 by 3.5 inches in size, the same format as baseball cards. They are self-made unique works or small series, signed and dated on the reverse by the artist/producer, exchanged and collected by the people who participate in the collaboration. The cards can be in various mediums such as painting, printing, fiber, drawing, even sculptural. In this workshop the students will learn about trading cards and produce their own designs.

Hand Made Sketchbooks
Artists typically use a sketchbook in one of two ways: They'll use it to document their observations of the physical world around them, or they'll use it to put an idea from their mind to paper. These sketch books are folded and sewn by the students in the workshop.
