This new year brings exciting programming focused on education, workforce development, health and wellness, and entrepreneurship From workshops and youth engagement education initiatives to partnerships with local organizations, we remain committed to creating a space that uplifts and empowers the Homewood community

Spotlight: Erroll Garner & His Legacy
Erroll Garner (1921–1977) was a legendary African American jazz pianist and composer born in Pittsburgh’s Hill District.
The Erroll Garner Archive (1942–2010), housed at the University of Pittsburgh Library System Archives & Special Collections, preserves his extraordinary life and work. Spanning over 100 linear feet, the collection includes sheet music, photographs, recordings, correspondence, memorabilia, and materials from his longtime manager and civil rights advocate Martha Glaser. Together, the archive documents not only Garner’s musical brilliance, but also the cultural impact and resilience of black artists in American history.
