When the 300-year-old Ascot Racecourse reinvented itself, we were there. When Italy’s Inter Milan football club needed new pitch barriers, they partnered with us. LEGACY

OUR STORY & HERITAGE. All Duralock products are manufactured to EN standards and we adhere to ISO 9001, 14001, 50001 Accreditations. Duralock racing solutions are approved by The BHA (British horse racing authority) for use on racecourses.

Some years ago, we shipped nearly 70,000m of fencing to Qatar. We often wonder whether Marcus Wheeler, the man who founded Duralock, ever imagined such an order when he opened his cowshed workshop in Devon, in South West England.

It was 1991. Marcus had few tools, even fewer employees and the fences Duralock made were mostly for neighbours. Marcus was obsessed with quality. And passionate about horse racing.

It wasn’t long before his passion and business skills were galloping side by side.

Duralock began to grow, custom building a wide range of products for racecourses. It offered clients complete solutions, from paddock fencing to running rails.

As the turn of the millennium neared, the company landed its first international project in Dubai.

A GLOBAL EXPORTER, WITH A PURPOSE. Our founder, Marcus, owned racehorses and cared deeply about the safety of both the jockeys and the animals.

Around the world, we’ve pioneered the use of plastic rails instead of metal or wooden ones.

With rounded edges, a hollow frame and modular design (built to break at fixing points, rather than splintering) PVCu fencing is the safer option for impacts.

Our roots are buried in horse racing, but our branches have grown in all directions. You’ll see our fences at rugby games, football matches and golf tournaments. You’ll spot them at schools and universities,

residential estates and shopping malls, factories, parks and music festivals.

Today, we export to dozens of countries around the globe.

The machines in our factory in Chipping Norton, near the famous town of Oxford, produce ten times as much fencing as they used to. We design solutions using smart software and 3D modelling.

But pop in and you’ll watch expert hands crafting intricate gate hinges or wheel arches for mobile fences. You’ll meet true artisans, some of whom have been with us for 10 or 15 years.

As the milling machines buzz, you’ll still hear Marcus’ mantra about quality.

WE’RE NOT ON THE FENCE. ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS. THAT’S WHY WE’VE: > Introduced fences made of 91% recycled plastics. To do this, we’ve invested more than £150,000 to upgrade our tools. We can use recycled plastics across our range, still offering you a 15-year warranty. (It’s 91% because the remainder is a sun resistant “skin” we add each time to make fences last longer.)

> Launched a new service to recycle our fences once they’re ready to come down. We can collect, reprocess and reuse old Duralock fences in the UK and across Europe, turning them into brand new ones. > Made sure our factory offcuts don’t go to waste. Each piece is put back into our circular economy instead of landing up at a landfill. When replacing equipment or factory forklifts, we go for battery power, not petrol or diesel. > Worked to bring our manufacturing closer to our clients. This will help us cut down shipping and shrink our carbon footprint.

Our fences can stand for a quarter of a century, or longer. The PVCu plastic we use is a safe, durable building material, which is easily recycled. But using it comes at a cost to the environment – and we must play our part in protecting our planet.

MASTERY MEETS TECHNOLOGY. We’ve revolutionised PVCu fencing solutions. Our fences are built using an award-winning, patented design. They are UV-stabilised to face the harshest sun. They can be installed as permanent features or wheeled around as temporary barriers (which you can easily reconfigure). We manufacture each modular piece, and can bring any design to life.

SAFET Y STARTS WITH SMART DESIGN. We use CAD and 3D modelling to turn concepts into blueprints. We use decades of expertise to help you design your fencing solution, and we take care of the installation. We work with architects and contractors to deliver your projects.

POST AND RAIL FENCING. DESIGNED AS A DEMARCATION BETWEEN PLAYERS AND SPECTATORS. This solution can help with revenue generation through advertising, sponsorship boards can be attached to the rails using our bespoke clips.

The unique qualities of the Duralock post and rail system make it ideal for a variety of uses, from pitch barriers and walkways to demarcation boundaries for car parks.

This multi-use product can be supplied at varying heights with a number of rails to suit your facilities exact requirements. This versatile system has been installed by Crystal Palace and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Duralock picket fencing is most popular for cricket ground boundaries for clubs and schools at all levels, closely followed by Duralock balustrade fencing which can be found around Edgbaston’s boundary. The aesthetic designs are in-keeping with wooden alternatives.
