TABLE FOR COEXISTENCE Rio Marina, Elba Island Public Space

Pisey , Sukanya, Beining (Bella)

This project explores the design of a public space in Rio Marina, drawing inspiration from the typology of the dining table. The design is based on the idea of coexistence, reflecting everyday activities in the town where residents interact with nature through walking, fishing, swimming, and spending time outdoors. Inspired by the gathering quality of a dining table, the project creates a flexible platform that connects different parts of the site while balancing urban and natural elements as well as public and private uses. The platform transforms existing spaces such as parking areas into multifunctional public zones, supporting activities like outdoor movies, sports, fishing, and swimming while strengthening community interaction.

FRAGMENT MUSEUM IN SUZHOU

Linear Museum

Physical model of the museum

The Fragment Museum in Suzhou is a linear museum designed to reconnect the site with its surrounding residential areas, canals, park, kindergarten, and nearby archaeological site. The project positions the museum as both a cultural and civic hub, integrating programs such as retail, hospitality, and research to support tourism and community engagement. Its design philosophy is organized around three elements: room, path, and garden, where fragmented buildings respond to views and context while maintaining individual identity. A continuous path links these fragments through courtyards and landscape spaces, drawing from Chinese garden philosophy to weave architecture, nature, and urban fabric into a cohesive spatial experience.

GATHERING GROUND

Rua Venezuela, Lisbon, Portugal Cooperative Housing

Gathering Ground is a cooperative housing project in Lisbon designed to strengthen connections between neighbors while improving urban accessibility and everyday well-being. The design draws inspiration from the Japanese concept of Engawa, creating transitional spaces, such as balconies, terraces, and passages, that blur the boundary between interior and exterior environments. The project emphasizes flexible shared spaces that support diverse residents and adapt to changing needs over time. A commercial ground floor engages the surrounding urban life, while upper residential units feature shared balconies and cross-ventilation to encourage community interaction and environmental comfort.
