One of Arvidsjaurs younger entrepreneurs, also nominated “New entrepreneur of the year” in 2017, is Johan Sellbom. He manages the business “Visit in Pjesker” and for the fourth year running, they clear ice tracks at lake Pjesker for the customer European Speed Club (ESC). During four months, they manage the winter season with five employees. Johan and his colleague Pawel Kowalski, both residents of Pjesker, are very grateful to have work locally. - We spend a lot of time out on the tracks and have run at least 6000 km with the snow mobile to compact the tracks, before the actual snow clearing could start with the small tractors, explains Johan. The first group of guests arrived on the 26th of January. Since then, they have customers on a daily basis until the 12th of March, both on the lake in Pjesker and on the tracks by the Wonderland lodge, close to Gråträsk. - It is part of our daily work routine to clear the tracks and soften the snow banks, says Pawel. We want the tracks to look pristine for each new group of guests. If we haven´t had any snow fall, we sometimes eject some fresh snow on the tracks, clear and make them perfect.
- Go-cart is real fun and usually inspires to competition, says Johan and Pawel. So, what development potential do you see with your business? - I work with my customer (ESC) to further develop and refine winter events and I also have plans for summer activities, says Johan.
