When we talk about PIP Theatre, we often talk about shows, seasons, and stories. But at the heart of everything is something much simpler - people. PIP Theatre was founded on the belief that theatre is not just something you watch; it’s something you share. It’s made by people, for people, and with people - in all their difference, complexity, and contradiction. Our stages are filled with voices that aren’t always centred elsewhere: Artists with disability, LGBTIQA+ storytellers, emerging creatives and mid-career artists finding new momentum. But representation isn’t just about who is seen under the lights. It’s also about who has supported behind the scenes. At PIP, people matter at every level - from the artists we pay, to the volunteers who welcome you at the door, to the audiences who trust us with their time, their laughter, and sometimes their hearts. In 2025, we hosted 300 performances of 74 productions, welcomed over 11,000 audience members, and provided paid opportunities for 295 creative artists and crew. Those numbers matter - but what matters more is what they represent: connection, opportunity, and belonging.

Our 2026 season continues this commitment. These are stories that ask big questions about who we are, how we care for one another, and how we live together in a changing world. Some will challenge you. Some will delight you. Some may even surprise you. All of them are rooted in people - their lives, their choices, and their courage. ANY MOMENT By Bradley McCaw “The music and lyrics are of a glittering standard that deserves worldwide praise. From the playbook of musicals such as Jason Robert Brown’s Songs For a New World, which examine the triumphs and pitfalls of contemporary, everyday life with humour, poignance and soaring melodies” (Arts Hub).

Inspired by the famous John Lennon quote, ‘Life is what happens while you’re busy making other plans’ Any Moment explores what unfolds in those little moments that happen without us noticing? Who knows what will and could happen – Any Moment. Set on New Years Eve, the work counts down to midnight with songs about football, dog’s named rover, shopping, love, death and that awaits in-between.

This profit share pilot production has been developed to create a pathway for both the work and it’s incredible cast of local artists and recent graduates from the Griffith Conservatorium Musical Theatre program.

A vice isn’t always a flaw or defect; when you recognize it, it becomes your best tool, infallible, able to be seen, starting with oneself and becoming an addiction for others. The production’s title translates to “Filming my vices” in English. Three strangers present their vices, observe them, explore them, and become chaotic. The need for another so they can move together, each with their own vice, which ends up complementing the other, where a subtle contact or touch appears that connects their lives. What appears is a voluntary desire to feel another person within them. Something which from that moment onwards becomes inseparable, creating an exquisite blend of skin, muscle, and bone.

Cerebral and challenging, this modern epic poses powerful questions about free will, trauma and the perils of over-certainty. Sloane has been receiving messages from the universe. The Hanging Man tarot card keeps appearing in her library books, her early period is an omen of impending doom, and now there’s a dead bat hanging from the powerlines. All of these signs can only have one possible meaning: it’s time to kill her evil boss and save everyone at the call centre. Obviously. It’s gonna take tips from Reddit, dodgy gun deals, and not always useful advice from her dead mother’s ghost to become the perfect assassin, but she’s got this. Until the universe starts to throw new things in her path, like a familiar face who mysteriously turns up at work, which makes Sloane wonder if maybe she’s allowed to want something else – something more – from her life than just murder?

In the old CFA hall on the outskirts of town, a small group of locals come together to sing, and to connect. Aseni, Barbara, Mack, Savannah and Totty have splintered from their original choir on a matter of principle and are intent on forging their own path. With their latest recruit Peter along for the ride, they have a new name, a space to rehearse in and a public debut booked. All they need now is to right the wrongs of the past … and to find a song that pairs perfectly with the local winery’s Sangiovese.

THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE PARODY MUSICAL Music by Thomas Currie Book and Lyrics by Liam Hartley and Oliver Catton Based on the infamous 2009 film of the same name, this preposterous plot follows a mad scientist who kidnaps and mutilates a trio of tourists in order to reassemble them into a human centipede, achieved by stitching their mouths to each other’s rectums. What was once a movie made for shock value is now a fully realised musical parody featuring original earworms, an eccentric cast of characters, and even a tap dancing centipede! After a sold-out season at Anywhere Festival 2023, The Human Centipede Parody Musical returns to Brisbane for seconds.

It’s an heartfelt and unjudgmental look through transgenerational trauma and it’s implications: what gets broken? Why suffering can turn into healing others or in self-destructive behaviours?
