We are offering the contents of Burletts House, Sussex. The vendor’s family describe their retired father as a prolific lifelong collector, with passions including clocks and vintage car racing he even lent his car to Stirling Moss and their mother as an avid art collector. Together they spent a lifetime buying from auctions, galleries, markets, and antique shops. The family also had a close friendship with Elisabeth Frink, commissioning in 1985 The Desert Quartet, erected in Worthing in 1989.

ARR – Artist’s Resale Rights
ARR is a royalty payable to a qualifying artist or the artist’s heirs each time a work is resold during the artist’s lifetime and up to a period of 70 years after the artist’s death. Royalties are calculated on a sliding percentage scale based on the hammer price excluding the buyers premium. The royalty does not apply to lots selling below the sterling equivalent of £1,000. And the maximum royalty payable on any single lot is the sterling equivalent of £12,500. Provenance: Burletts House, a Georgian rectory, in Sussex. Elisabeth Frink was the foremost British Sculptor of her generation, an outstanding figure of British twentieth century art, renowned for her haunting and majestic representations of birds, animals and men. She was one of the few women to break into the art establishment and at the age of 22 she sold her first work, "Bird" to the Tate Gallery. Her works are featured in numerous galleries, public places and churches.
Leaping Man is in the catalogue raisonné of her sculpture, Elisabeth Frink: Catalogue Raisonné of Sculpture 1947-93 by Anna Ratuszniak. This work is recorded as FCR350. Leaping Man has been sold at auction at Christies in Nov 2000/1,Nov 2011. Exhibition history for Leaping Man: London 1989, Hong Kong 1989, Glasgow 1990, Washington DC 1990.

Caroline Wallace is an Equine artist and sculptor based in the Cotswolds. In September 18, 2023 a new Sculpture of The Queen was unveiled at RMC Sandhurst, in honour of the Platinum Jubilee. Caroline Wallace created a lifesize bronze statue of The Queen aboard the RCMP's gift horse, Burmese. This Lot 4 is the silver maquette size. Cedric Morris was born in Swansea,
Wales. He was a British artist and plantsman known for his striking post-Impressionist flower paintings, landscapes, and highly decorated still lifes. He established the influential East Anglian School of Painting and Drawing in Suffolk, where notable students included Lucian Freud. His passion for horticulture led to him breeding numerous new varieties of Irises, and he became a celebrated horticulturalist.

• REMEDIES FOR NON PAYMENT or failure to collect purchases If any lot is not paid for in full and taken away in accordance with these Conditions, or if there is any other breach of these Conditions, Kidson-Trigg as an agent for the seller shall at its absolute discretion and without prejudice to any other rights it may have, be entitled to exercise all or any of the following rights and remedies: to proceed against the buyer for damages for breach of contract; to rescind the sale of that lot and/or any other lots sold by Kidson-Trigg to the defaulting buyer; to re sell the lot (by auction or private treaty) in which case the defaulting buyer shall be responsible for any resulting deficiency in the total amount due(after crediting any part payment and adding any resale costs).
