Admissions

When should I register? We advise that girls are registered two years prior to the desired year of entry. Our registration form can be found on our website and in the prospectus in your Pipers Bag. The £150 registration fee is most easily paid by bank transfer – please contact the Admissions Team if you have any questions.

When can girls join the School? Our natural entry points are Reception, Years 6 and 7 and the Lower Sixth. Each year we are also usually able to admit a few girls into Years 1-5. Places in Years 7-10 are subject to availability. Places are usually offered for the start of an academic year, but occasionally mid-year and mid-term places become available.

What are your entry criteria? We look for a good-average ability level and make our offers in order of date of registration.

How are girls assessed? At most entry points girls are assessed in Maths and English and there is no formal preparation required. All students for Prep entry and above will have an interview with the Headmistress or another senior member of staff.

What Scholarship or Bursaries do you offer? At Year 7 entry we offer a range of Scholarship Awards (Academic, Art, Drama, Music and PE) as well as the Jessie Cross Award (a means-tested Award for a student currently studying at a state school). Scholarship Awards and means-tested bursaries are also available for entry into our Sixth Form. At Reception entry we also offer a means-tested Jessie Cross Foundation Award.
