Learn and Have Fun at the Pingry Summer Camps Summer camp 2021 was a monumental success. The negative aftermath of Covid was thought to be extended, but fortunately it saved us the time and effort of preparing for further damage. The summer camp saw, not only kids who were eager to go out and enjoy nature after almost 2 years, but parents who were willing and accepting to let their children go out. It helped with the mindset that Covid can be dealt with in the right way, and that we shouldn’t succumb to it.

One of the key factors for parents to let their children join the camp is how affordable the camp was. Affordable summer camps are hard to come by these days, especially since covid happened because the safety of the kids is most important and that doesn’t come cheap. Since we are responsible for the well being of all the children, we would want them to bond in the safest of environments and social distance, if need be. We took all the necessary protocols and made sure that it was a fun and safe environment for the kids to learn in.

Pingry’s Tech camp was one to watch because we had a lot of children interested in this particular area. As we all are aware, technology runs the world today. So it really is no surprise that the future generations want to be a part of it. Pingry’s 3D modeling course has caught the eye of a lot of kids as they get to 3D model their own things. Toys are the best way to get kids interested in something. They have a personal connection with their toys and it makes it all the more special when they get to design and 3D print their own toys. The 3D course ranges from courses for beginners all the way to courses at an advanced level. 3D modeling gives the kids a platform to showcase their creativity and show them how innovative they can get with designs. 3D printing a car, for example, would help the children in identifying the different parts of a car. (Doors, wheels, bonnet, boot etc.)

3D printing here is not only limited to designing toys. It applies to making and designing movies, NFT’s and plays a significant part in the metaverse. The camp mainly focuses on computer generated 3D modeling principals using the software, TinkerCAD. It is a computer aided design software that can be applied to fine art, 3D printing, engineering,

product design, cartoon modeling and architecture. Depending on how the camp progresses, there will be opportunity to learn new softwares like Blend and Cinema4D. The imagination of the children is not limited to anything. They will start off learning the basics of 3D design and once they are at an advanced level, they will have the freedom to design anything of their choice. Each student will be judged under their own skill level receiving group and individual support. The kids will be under supervision by experienced instructors, which also helps them in learning easier and better. When the kids are done with the camp, they will have created their own complex 3D model or multiple 3D models. Since the camp will be taxing for the kids, and that we don’t want to overwhelm them with too much work, the camp starts from 1:00 pm and ends at 4:00 pm.

This is also done for them to stay interested in the topics because for the attention span they posses, they won’t pay much attention to things that last long.

The idea of tech camps is to make sure that the kids are familiar with the trends that are being set in the modern world. As parents, we have to provide them the best platform for learning, in the hope that one day, they practice what they have learned theoretically.

Every industry is dependent on technology, so it would be a huge buffer for the children when they mature and enter the industry. After all, it is all about future planning and making sure that the children have the best environment around them at all times.
