New this year, the Senior Starfish Award is proudly presented to those teachers, faculty, and staff members whom our graduating seniors have identified as making a lasting difference in their lives.

The name of this award was inspired by the story of a man who observed a boy walking along the shore throwing stranded starfish back into the sea. The man told the boy his efforts wouldn't make a difference, since he couldn't possibly save the lives of all of the starfish on the beach. The boy smiled, picked up another starfish, and replied, "I can make a difference for this one."
