Biodiversity Loss

Biodiversity loss refers to the decline or extinction of biological diversity, understood as the variety of species that live on this planet As a society, we are falling short of all the goals set for reducing biodiversity loss by 2023, which will have a significant negative impact on us, other species, and nature itself. One of the biggest negative effects of biodiversity loss is that it threatens human well-being by affecting soil and water, which are essential for food production. This harms humans as well as other animals like fish and other wildlife that consume food that grows in the infected soil and drinks contaminated water. Thousands of different species are at danger as a result of habitat destruction and change. Biodiversity loss has inclined at an alarming rate this decade, largely due to human activity. When we think of pollution, we might picture the airborne exhaust fumes from moving vehicles, but biodiversity is also impacted by other types of pollution, such as noise and light pollution. This is why biodiversity loss is such a major issue in our society, and as can be seen in the picture, the future is not looking good for all species if we continue on this path of harming our ecosystem.
