† CALL TO WORSHIP One: Many: One: Many: One: Many:

God established a decree in Jacob and appointed a law in Israel. God commanded our ancestors to teach their children, that children yet unborn should set their hope in God. Give ear to God’s teachings. Do not hide them. We will tell the coming generation the glorious deeds of the Lord and the wonders he has done. Give ear to God’s teachings. Do not hide from them. Our hearts will remain steadfast. We will remember God’s faithfulness with praise.

† HYMN 363 Rejoice, the Lord Is King

DARWALL’S 148TH

† PRAYER OF CONFESSION Everlasting God, we say we want to see you, we say we want to know you, we say we want to serve you, but we do not always follow through. We have not prepared for your coming kingdom. We have not kept alert for your signs among us. We have not stepped beyond the threshold of your grace for ourselves and others. Forgive us and inspire us to put our faith to action, that we might always be ready for you to arrive.

† AFFIRMATION OF FAITH

The Apostles’ Creed I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

† THE PEACE One:

The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.

Many: And also with you.

WELCOME AND PARISH LIFE THE OFFERING OF TITHES AND GIFTS TO GOD ANTHEM The King Shall Come When Morning Dawns

Howard Helvey The King shall come when morning dawns and light triumphant breaks; when beauty gilds the eastern hills and life to joy awakes; and life to joy awakes. Not, as of old, a little child to bear and fight and die, but crowned with glory like the sun that lights the morning sky. The King shall come when morning dawns and earth’s dark night is past; O haste the rising of the morn, the day that e’er shall last, the day that e’er shall last; and let the endless bliss begin, by weary saints foretold, when right shall triumph over wrong, truth shall be extolled. The King shall come when morning dawns and light and beauty brings: Hail, Christ the Lord! Thy people pray, come quickly, King of kings; come quickly, King of kings. The King shall come when morning dawns.

† PRESENTATION OF THE GIFTS Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; praise Christ, all people here below; Praise Holy Spirit evermore; praise triune God, whom we adore. Amen.
