Pine Street is a Welcoming Church, Glorifying God through Worship, Fellowship and Service in the World.
World Communion Sunday
God of grace, mercy, and peace, through the trials and tribulations of life, many burdens fill our souls with strife. Instill in us sincere faith and grant us a spirit of power, love, and selfdiscipline, that we may worship with humility and steadfast trust and respond to your holy calling, according to your will. Amen.
VOLUNTARY To God Be the Glory Crosby/Doane (Please use the opening voluntary as a time of silent meditation and preparation for worship.)
SALUTATION
One: Keep watch for a word from the Lord. Many: The righteous will live by their faith.
† Those able are invited to stand. Bold text is read or sung by all.

INTROIT Lord, Here Am I John Ness Beck Master, thou callest, I gladly obey; only direct me, and I’ll find Thy way. Teach me the mission appointed for me, what is my labor, and where it shall be. Master, thou callest, and this I reply, “Ready and willing, Lord, here am I.” Willing my Savior, to take up the cross; willing to suffer reproaches and loss; willing to follow, if thou wilt but lead; only support me with grace in my need. Master, thou callest, and this I reply, “Ready and willing, Lord, here am I.” Living or dying, I still would be thine, yet I am mortal while thou art divine. Pardon, whenever I turn from the right; pity, and bring me again to the light. Master, thou callest, and this I reply, “Ready and willing, Lord, here am I, here am I.”
One: Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me,
Many: Bless God's Holy Name.
One: Bless the Lord, O my soul,
Many: and do not forget God's benefits, who forgives all our iniquity, who heals all our diseases,
One: Bless the Lord, O my soul,
Many: who satisfies us with goodness as long as we live, so that our youth is renewed like the eagles. Bless the Lord!
Gracious God, our sins are too heavy to carry, too real to hide, and too deep to undo. We look at a world undone by strife, torn by violence, separated by hatred. Yet you call us to walk the way of peace. Forgive us, O God, for refusing to follow you on this path because the cost is too high, the direction too confusing, the conditions too harsh. Forgive us our complacency. Grant us clarity of vision to see the light, and the strength to walk behind you. In the power of your Spirit, we pray, Amen.
SILENCE FOR PERSONAL CONFESSION

One: By the tender mercy of our God, the dawn from on high will break upon us,
Many: to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet in the way of peace.
One: In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven!
Many: Thanks be to God!

The Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic Church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
† THE PEACE
One: The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Many: And also with you.

ANTHEM All Who Hunger, Gather Glady

David M. Cherwien
All who hunger, gather gladly; holy manna is our bread. Come from wilderness and wandering. Here, in truth, we will be fed. You that yearn for days of fulness, all around us is our food. Taste and see the grace eternal. Taste and see that God is good. All who hunger, never strangers, seeker, be a welcome guest. Come from restlessness and roaming, here, in joy, we keep the feast. We that once were lost and scattered in communion’s love have stood. Taste and see the grace eternal. Taste and see that God is good. All who hunger, sing together; Jesus is living bread. Come from loneliness and longing. Here, in peace, we have been led. Blest are those who from this table live their days in gratitude. Taste and see the grace eternal. Taste and see that God is good.
