† HYMN #285 God, You Spin the Whirling Planets AUSTRIAN HYMN

† PRAYER OF CONFESSION

The Rev. Heather M. Sigler

Gracious God, you know what kind of people we are. We judge others harshly and fail to see our own sin. We look with suspicion and fear and neglect to show hospitality to strangers.

† Those able are invited to stand Bold text is read or sung by all

We treasure things that are worthless and squander your precious gifts. We withhold from others the grace and love that you give us so freely. Forgive us. Pour out your grace upon us, free us from our sin and make us your new creation through Christ our Lord. Amen.

† AFFIRMATION OF FAITH

The Apostles’ Creed I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

† THE PEACE

One: The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Many: And also with you.

THE OFFERING OF TITHES AND GIFTS TO GOD (Text 267-367-4910 to give)

ANTHEM: All Things Bright and Beautiful John Rutter

All things bright and beautiful, all creatures great and small, all things wise and wonderful, the Lord God made them all. Each little flower that opens, each little bird that sings, He made their glowing colors; He made their tiny wings. All things bright and beautiful, all creatures great and small, all things wise and wonderful, the Lord God made them all. The purple-headed mountain, the river running by, the sunset and the morning that brightens up the sky; the cold wind in the winter, the pleasant summer sun, the ripe fruits in the garden, he made them every one; all things bright and beautiful, all creatures great and small, all things wise and wonderful, the Lord God made them all. He gave eyes to see them, and lips that we might tell how great is God Almighty, who has made all things well. All things bright and beautiful, all creatures great and small, all things wise and wonderful, the Lord God made them all.

LORD’S PRAYER

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

A NNOUNCEMENTS AND NOTICES

TODAY-Peace and Global Witness Offering

PEACE is active, not passive. It is a verb just as much as a noun. PEACE is doing, not waiting. A gift to the Peace & Global Witness Offering enables the Presbyterian Church (USA) to promote the Peace of Christ by addressing systems of conflict and injustice across the world. Locally, Pine Street retains 25% of this offering, which this year will be used for the support of the Adult Learning Center. We are thankful for peacemaking efforts throughout the world and for the ministry of the Adult Learning Center at Pine Street.

COVID-19 UPDATE

In the past few weeks, Central Pennsylvania counties have reached a high positivity rate of COVID 19 transmission. In compliance with The PA Dept of Health, the session recommends that all individuals, no matter their vaccination status, wear masks in public indoor settings where there is a substantial or high transmission rate. Session asks worshipers to comply with these guidelines in consideration of the well-being of children, the immunocompromised, and others who are not eligible to receive the vaccine.
