Pine Street is a Welcoming Church, Glorifying God through Worship, Fellowship and Service in the World.
Tenth Sunday after Pentecost
O God, full of compassion, I commit and commend myself to you, in whom I am, and live, and know. Be the goal of my pilgrimage, and my rest by the way. Let my soul take refuge from the crowding turmoil of worldly thoughts beneath the shadow of your wings. Let me heart, this sea of restless waves, find peace in you, O God. Amen.
VOLUNTARY Make the Sounds of Praise

SALUTATION
One: Maintain justice, and do what is right. Many: God our Savior is coming soon.
† Those able are invited to stand Bold text is read or sung by all
Joanne Coles
One: You cleared the ground for it; it took deep root and filled the land.
Many: The mountains were covered with its shade, the mighty cedars with its branches.
One: It sends out its branches to the sea and its shoots to the River.
Many: Turn again. Look down from heaven and see.
One: Have regard for this vine, the stock that your right hand planted.
Many: Then we will never turn back from you; give us life and we will call on your name.
One: Let us lift our praise to the God who restores and saves us.
PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Living Creator, with a gardener’s tender touch, you planted your people to bear good fruit, but we bear sour grapes. With a welder’s fierce fire, you fashioned your people to glorify you, but we are riddled with impurities. In your generous mercy, O God, regard the wine you planted: save and restore us. Reform the vessel you crafted: cleanse and refine us. Give us life, O God, that with our whole being, we may worship you rightly.
One: Jesus endured the cross and disregarded its shame for the sake of the joy that was set before him. That joy is our salvation. His joy is our freedom. Believe the good news:
Many: In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. Thanks be to God!
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, Amen.

SERMON “Weather or Climate?” The Rev. Seelman
The Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic Church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
One: The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Many: And also with you.

As the deer panteth for the water, so my soul longeth after Thee. You alone are my heart’s desire, and I long to worship Thee. You alone are my strength, my shield; to You alone may my spirit yield. You alone are my heart’s desire, and I long to worship Thee. You’re my friend and You are my brother even though You are a King. I love You more than any other, so much more than anything. You alone are my strength, my shield; to You alone may my spirit yield. You alone are my heart’s desire, and I long to worship Thee. I want You more than gold or silver only You can satisfy. You alone are the real joy giver and the apple of my eye. You alone are my strength, my shield; to You alone may my spirit yield. You alone are my heart’s desire, and I long to worship Thee.

… now and forever
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
