Pine Street is a Welcoming Church, Glorifying God through Worship, Fellowship and Service in the World.
Eighth Sunday after Pentecost
God of Justice, we gather from all corners of the world, knowing that you have made a new world possible even as we hold on to the old world. We pray for those in places where greed and evil still reign, for those who are still full of anger and wrath, for those who still act with malice, for those who still use abusive language, for those who still lie to others, and for those who hoard treasures on earth. We pray with the knowledge that sometimes, this is us. Don’t give up on us now. Clothe us with a new self according to your image so that one day there will be no more divisions among us. Amen.

SALUTATION
One: You have been raised with Christ. Many: Let us seek the things that are above.
† Those able are invited to stand Bold text is read or sung by all
Beth Alwine
One: Gathered in from many lands,
Many: we come from east and west, north and south.
One: Some of us have wandered through deserts.
Many: Some of us are hungry and thirsty.
One: But the Holy One heard our pleas.
Many: and has delivered us from distress!
One: So we come to worship with prayers of thanksgiving,
Many: for God's steadfast love endures forever.
Faithful God, we confess our faithlessness. Our eyes are fickle, our eyes wander, and we trick ourselves into serving other gods. We speak lies, accept lies, live lies, destroying others and ourselves along the way. Forgive our waywardness and lead us back to you. Embolden our trust in your faithfulness and settle your truth in our hearts.
SILENCE FOR PERSONAL CONFESSION
† ASSURANCE OF PARDON
One: Beyond the cross, beyond the grace, beyond our sin, Many: God’s steadfast love endures forever.
One: This is good news!
Many: In Jesus Christ we are forgiven!
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, Amen.

“Get Ready With Me” The Rev. Seelman
The Apostles’ Creed I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic Church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
† THE PEACE
One: The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Many: And also with you.

ANTHEM Beloved, God’s Chosen Robert Hobby
Beloved, God’s chosen, put on as a garment compassion, forgiveness, and goodness of heart. Above all, before all, let love be your raiment that binds into one every dissonant part. Within, call forth Wisdom, to dwell in you richly; let peace rule your hearts, and that peace be of Christ. And from the heart’s chamber, beloved and holy, let singing thanksgiving to God ever rise. Beloved, God’s chosen, put on as a garment compassion, forgiveness, and goodness of heart. Above all, before all, let love be your raiment that binds into one every dissonant part.
† PRESENTATION OF THE GIFTS
Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; praise Christ, all people here below; praise Holy Spirit evermore; praise triune God, whom we adore. Amen. † PRAYER OF DEDICATION

One: In your mercy,
Many: Lord, hear our prayer.
… now and forever
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
One: The gifts of God for the people of God. Many: Let us keep the joyful feast.
