Pine Street is a Welcoming Church, Glorifying God through Worship, Fellowship and Service in the World.
Sixth Sunday of Easter
Light of the world, you have given us your commandments because you love us, but we cannot keep them on our own. In our worship of your triune name, give us your Holy Spirit and teach us to follow. In the following days, help us to live in the way of your steadfast love as we await your return. Amen.
VOLUNTARY With the Lord Begin Your Task arr. James Boeringer (Please use the opening voluntary as a time of silent meditation and preparation for worship.)
SALUTATION
One: There is no greater love than this: Many: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
One: Be gracious to us and bless us; O God, show us favor.
Marty Gruver
Many: May your way, O God, be known upon the earth; may your deliverance be known among the nations.
One: People will praise you, O God; all peoples will praise you.
Many: Nations will exult and shout for joy, for you rule the peoples with equity; you guide the nations of the earth.
One: The peoples will praise you, O God; all people will praise you.
Many: Let us worship God!!

Gracious God, we equate our judgement with your judgement and often consider our ways to be your ways. We define peace as the absence of disruption, holding our comfort as your aim and thinking our preferences reflect your way. Too often we act as if we are your authoritative witnesses, believing our worldview is the same as yours and that our narrative contains your hope for the future. O God, dislodge us from our sinful assumptions. Forgive our selfish views. Correct us with your truth and teach us by your Spirit.

The Apostles’ Creed I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic Church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
† THE PEACE
One: The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Many: And also with you.
