The Lord, said, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” In this way we will be distinct. Many: We will proclaim the name of the Lord and see God’s back from the cleft of the rock, leading us forward.

† HYMN 12 Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise

ST. DENIO

† PRAYER OF CONFESSION God of justice and truth, you ask us to give to you the things that are yours. If we are honest, we know we hold so much back. We have promised you our obedience, but we often fulfill our own desires first. We have promised you our worship, but we give our attention to idols instead. We have promised to do your work in the world, but we put it last on the list of priorities. Have mercy on us and forgive us. Increase our generosity that we might give freely, grateful for all of the gifts you have given us.

† SILENCE FOR PERSONAL CONFESSION

† KYRIE

† ASSURANCE OF PARDON One:

The good news remains true. God has chosen us, forgives us, and walks beside us, helping us become imitators of Christ. Many: Thanks be to God, we are forgiven! Alleluia!

† AFFIRMATION OF FAITH

The Rev. Seelman

The Apostles’ Creed I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

† THE PEACE One:

The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.

Many: And also with you.

WELCOME AND PARISH LIFE THE OFFERING OF TITHES AND GIFTS TO GOD ANTHEM What Shall I Render to My God

Nick Strimple What shall I render to my God, who watches over me in love, who stills the trembling of my soul, and fills my heart with music? What shall I render to this God, who has provided good to me? I’ll sing God’s praises while I live, and bless God’s name forever. When danger all around me lies, and fear erodes my fragile faith, God breaks the grip of terror’s vise, and fills my heart with music. What shall I render to this God, who has provided good to me? I’ll sing God’s praises while I live, and bless God’s name forever. How can I, undeserving, serve God, who has done so much for me? How can I worship God in truth, and fill the world with music? Seek justice, mercy, everywhere; help the oppressed, the lame, the blind; and feed the hungry; work for peace, and bless God’s name, and bless God’s name forever. Praise to the ever-living God, whose freely given love endures, who all sufficient grace supplies, and fills my heart with music; what shall I render to this God, who has provided good to me? I’ll sing God’s praises while I live, and bless God’s name forever! Amen.

† PRESENTATION OF THE GIFTS Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; praise Christ, all people here below; Praise Holy Spirit evermore; praise triune God, whom we adore. Amen.
