Hello everyone! It’s once again my favorite time of the month, its fuckin PP time! Id like to start by thanking Annika from Beal for letting me use their beautiful art for this months cover! They were also the one who made the mugshot drawing in last months issue. Also i’ m sorry for forgetting to put pinecones in the survey, I’ve been super busy and forgot, sorry! Also, I'm sorry if your survey responses weren't included in this issue. I had to close submissions early to be able to get it out before the end if the month. I did make sure that any late submissions didn't sway any vote, and they did not so don't worry about that! I felt a little bad getting one of the awards, but the people spoke :") This was a fun one to make so thanks for participating in it! On a less fun note, There been a lot less submissions of articles and stuff and that makes me sad. :( So if there’s anything you’d be interested in doing a regular column on, that would just fil me with joy. So please reach out to me if there’s anything that you’d be up to do! With this being the last Pine press many members will be receiving I’d like to wish you a heartfelt goodbye, especially to my regular contributors; you will be greatly missed. if you would like to continue sharing stuff with the SHC community you can contribute to the wind through the pines newsletter and join the facebook group. The link to that should be on the next page! And to all the new members reading this, Welcome! this is yours, so you should contribute to it! Your art, thoughts, poetry, shit posts, whatever (within reason) the pine press is better with you adding to it, so don’t be afraid to. If you have any questions or want help with anything you can email me at Education@spartan.coop
In cooperation - Mackenzie

Deadwhitelilly is my favorite band in Michigan to see live right now. So when they finally released this EP I was beyond excited. Michigan screamo is the best screamo and this is a prime example. stand outs: Silence / Numbness, the issue with angela 1 2 3 4 5
I absoluetly adore this album. It was one of, if not my favorite album from last year and one who’s lack of attention confused me. its loud and fun and bursting with emotion. stand outs: Crash!!! Burn!!!, criscross charon, out of season.

Side project from the powerful Tyler of Your arms are my cocoon Known for their raw and chaotic genre pioneering bedroom skramz, this is a drastic change of pace being much softer and palatable, but just as emotional and catchy stand outs: Canada geese

This album really surprised me I found Lee Harvey from the single they released after this called Gertrude macdowell (maybe my fav song this summer?) and dove into this album after. I cant pin it down as it occupies so many lanes, you just have to give it a listen! stand outs: eye oh you (sequioa), hey kat, I’m Charles Manson Deadwhitelily -

10 monthly listeners, released 2021 bedroom pop, slacker rock this is a very vulnerable album. Recorded at the end of the artists teenage years it is both anxious and hopeful. when listening to it the first time i had the thought that it sounds like how being 18 felt to me. and I think its meant to. stand outs: heaven is a six flags, I am afraid of you, tall tale
I’drecommendit.

MACKENZIES REALLY FUCKIN GOOD VEGAN TACOS
INGREDIENTS
three bell peppers
one & 1/4 vidalina onion
Jalopenos garlic fresh limes coconut oil
avocados
heirloom tomatoes cilantro
eggs (optional)
notes
I recommend you do all the cutting and make the sauce before you start cooking. also, for the sauce, remove the seeds and glands from the jalapenos
start by cutting up the peppers and onion and put them in a pan on medium heat. once they start caramelizing add half a limes juice and heat up another pan. In the second pan add the beyond meat (that you took out to thaw at the beginning) with 1/4 of a diced onion and half a limes juice and cook till it has a firm outside and soft middle. once ready add the steak to the veggies and put on low hear, add salt, pepper a little ginger and rosemary. dice garlic and jalapenos then add to a bowl with avocado and mash till you have a desired consistency. toast your tortillas and spread the guac on them. Dice then add your tomatoes and the fajita mix. in a blender put one or two heads of garlic, one limes worth of lime juice, a jalapeno, salt, rosemary and two egg yolks, (or 2/3s of an avocado to keep it vegan) and an oil of your liking and blend till you have a smooth consistency. top the tacos with the sauce and a bit of cilantro and you have a delicious vegan, or vegetarian meal : ”) beyond meat steak tips
