"Pardon our dust" might be the phrase of the month here at Pine Island We are finally approaching the finish line on our Pickleball Courts, and I know many of you are eager to get out and play The courts are scheduled to open during the second week of the month, and Brandon is already working on a court reservation system, as well as organizing some informal social events to introduce all of us to the game that is sweeping the nation
The big news this month is the start of our golf course "Nip & Tuck" project. Work will begin later this month with renovations to all four Par 3 tee complexes. From there, the team will move to the main driving range tee and then the short game area. I encourage you to read Jim's article, which outlines the entire process, including the project scope and a preliminary timeline. As Jim reminds us, all 18 holes will remain open throughout construction, although some holes will feature unique tee locations It should actually be a fun opportunity to experience the course from a different perspective
The parking lot and driveway will also be receiving some much-needed attention this month. We will be patching, sealcoating, and restriping the members' parking lot, followed by a more extensive resurfacing of the main driveway and diagonal parking area. We are targeting a few consecutive Mondays to complete most of this work in order to minimize inconvenience for you and your guests.

Thank you for patiently waiting for our two new Pickleball Courts to be completed.
We are nearing the finish line. This week the professional team at Carolina Courtex, will begin sealing, painting and striping the courts. Immediately after that process, they will be installing the posts and nets.
If Mother Nature cooperates, we should be dinking outside the kitchen on Friday, June 10th. We are setting up a new court reservation app to facilitate play and will be organizing some fun events to introduce you Pickleball.

I joined Pine Island Country Club to meet fellow golfers, get more involved around Charlotte, and most importantly find more excuses to play golf. Since I’m still fairly new to the area, I’m looking forward to meeting new people, making friends, and hopefully improving my handicap at least a little.
Originally from a tiny town in Indiana, I went to Purdue University (Go Boilers!) and firmly believe a good round of golf is even better with good company and a cold drink afterward. I am truly excited about this opportunity to join Pine Island!

Tyler is the founder of an investment firm focused on technology businesses and lives locally on Mountain Island Lake with his family. Outside of work, he enjoys boating, hunting, skiing, and spending as much time outdoors as possible. Fun fact: After making a hole-in-one in 2024, Tyler has been referred to as the “Trent Dilfer of golf” — pretty horrible overall (~20 hcp), but still somehow managed to win a Super Bowl

Our family is excited to join Pine Island. We both grew up in Charlotte and moved back to the area six years ago with our three sons.
We have been looking for a place to play golf and pickleball as a family as well as with others in the community.
Summer is approaching, the grass is growing, staff members are running around with hoses, and spirits are high as the course continues to come together! Please remember to apply all sunscreen and bug spray on cart paths only, as residual spray can damage surrounding turf.
Exciting projects will begin over the next few weeks. Environmental Solutions will start work on the par-3 tees, then move to the driving range tee, and finally complete redevelopment of the short-game surrounds. Start dates may vary depending on the completion of their current projects and recent weather delays caused by rain.
While the par-3 tees are under construction, all play will be from the green tees. This will continue until the reconstructed tees are ready to open. Once those tees are open for play, we will strip and resod the green tees
The current bunker, existing chipping area, and small range tee will all be maintained at fairway height, increasing short-cut turf from 8,000 square feet to approximately 20,000 square feet
Please note that construction timelines may change depending on weather conditions. This also applies to reopening the reconstructed areas. We will reopen surfaces only when the turf is fully established and suitable for play.
