There are certain moments in our history that never leave us. September 11th is one of them. Twenty-five years later, we still remember exactly where we were, who we were with, and how our world changed that day. The terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, left our nation stunned, heartbroken, and violated. But in the days and weeks that followed, something powerful happened. We came together. Differences seemed smaller. Neighbors looked after neighbors. And across our country, we gained an even deeper appreciation for the men and women who run toward danger while the rest of us run away. Our first responders have always been heroes. September 11th simply reminded the world of what they are willing to sacrifice for the people they serve. Twenty-five years later, I believe our country—and perhaps even more importantly, our communities—could use more of that spirit. More gratitude. More respect. More appreciation for those who serve others. And more opportunities to come together simply as neighbors and friends. That is what makes this September particularly meaningful at Pine Island. This Monday, Labor Day, we will welcome members of our local fire, law enforcement, and medical communities to the club. They will be bringing their impressive vehicles and equipment for our members and families to see. For our children, it will be an exciting opportunity to climb aboard and experience these incredible machines up close. For all of us, it will be an opportunity to look these men and women in the eye and simply say, “Thank you.” Mother Nature appears to be cooperating, so we are looking forward to a beautiful day filled with families, fellowship, and appreciation. In the spirit of giving, we ask everyone attending to consider a $5 donation to AJ and the Cool Kids, a wonderful Charlotte organization dedicated to supporting children in our community. It is a small gesture that can make a meaningful difference.

Then, on September 11th, we will gather again for Glow Golf. Several firefighters and law enforcement officers will be joining us, and we hope you will be part of one of the most unique and enjoyable nights on the Pine Island calendar. We will literally light up nine holes and transform our golf course into an experience unlike anything else you have experienced at the club. There will be golf. There will be laughter. There will be great fellowship. And there will also be a moment to remember. As we enjoy the evening, I hope each of us will take a few minutes to think about the people who have spent the past 25 years serving, protecting, and caring for our communities. Some answered that call on September 11th. Others answer it every single day.We owe them our gratitude. There is so much more happening at Pine Island this month. I encourage you to take a few minutes to read through this newsletter and discover everything your club has planned. You will see updates on the progress of our tee and practice facility renovations, learn about exciting changes within our staff, and find a full lineup of events designed to bring our membership together. September gives us a chance to do something that I believe is at the heart of what makes Pine Island special: come together, appreciate one another, and celebrate the community we are fortunate to call home. A Well-Deserved Promotion: Ivy Honeycutt One of the happiest moments of my 15 months at Pine Island Country Club is having the opportunity to announce the promotion of Ivy Honeycutt to Director of Food & Beverage. Ivy has been with us for just nine months, but her contributions feel Ivy Honeycutt more like nine years. Anyone who has had the pleasure of working with Ivy—whether on a small gathering or one of our largest events— has quickly recognized what makes her so special. She is professional, detail-oriented, gracious, helpful, and, most importantly, genuinely committed to taking care of our members and our team. Ivy will continue to lead our Events Sales and Operations team and will remain your go-to resource for all of your catering needs. I know many of you have already experienced firsthand the care, professionalism, and attention to detail she brings to every event. As many of you know, Pine Island has been without a Director of Food & Beverage for several months. During that time, Ivy stepped forward and, without the benefit of formal F&B leadership training or extensive management experience, became the person our team naturally looked to for leadership. She earned that confidence through her actions every day. What I appreciate most about Ivy is that she truly cares. She has a servant’s heart, takes tremendous pride in her work, and has an authentic desire to learn, improve, and make Pine Island better. Those qualities cannot be taught—and they are exactly the qualities we want in a leader. We also recognize that stepping into this role is a significant responsibility. That is why we are committed to investing in Ivy and giving her every opportunity to succeed. We recently brought in a seasoned F&B trainer for two weeks to work alongside Ivy, helping her build a strong foundation in the fundamentals, strategies, and systems that will serve her well at Pine Island. This is only the beginning. We will continue to invest in her development, as well as ongoing training for Ivy and her entire team. When we invest in our people, we invest in the future of Pine Island. I believe most of you have already had the opportunity to meet Ivy. You will find her in the dining room, at the pool, working an event, or simply somewhere around the club making things happen. The next time you see Ivy, please take a moment to congratulate her. More importantly, give her your support and encouragement as she takes on this new challenge. She has earned this opportunity, and I am confident she will do great things for Pine Island. Please join me in congratulating Ivy Honeycutt, our new Director of Food & Beverage. I could not be happier for her, and I could not be more excited about what lies ahead for Ivy, her team, and the future of Food & Beverage at Pine Island.

COURSE UPDATE JIM SCHRAMM GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT September begins with Club Championships, followed by greens aerification during the two days following Labor Day. This year’s aerification will have minimal impact on play. Small coring tines will remove organic material, followed by a light topdressing. You will see open holes on the greens, but these should fill in quickly with the favorable weather we typically experience in September. Project Update All of the Par 3 tees are complete and open for play! The range is also ready and will be used sparingly as we approach the end of the season. We will not overseed the range this year, as we have a juvenile plant currently in place. The Short Game area is complete and is beginning to come together. We will continue to evaluate its progress and make a decision on opening it soon. As always, our team would like to thank you for your continued support. We look forward to seeing you out on the course!

MEMBERSHIP NEWS BRANDON TANGUAY DIRECTOR OF MEMBERSHIP

August has been an incredible month for membership growth at Pine Island, and a huge thank you goes to all of you (our members) for helping make it happen! We launched our Membership Referral Program at the beginning of the month, and the leaderboard is already filling up with names of members who have introduced friends, family, and colleagues to Pine Island. Seeing more of your friends become part of what we’re building here is exactly what strengthens our community and makes Pine Island truly feel like a “home away from home.” As we continue toward maintaining a full membership and building a strong waiting list, that momentum allows us to keep investing back into the member experience, from our new mobile app to continued improvements around the Club and golf course. Thank you for your continued support, your referrals, and most importantly, for helping make Pine Island such a special community. Here’s to another great month ahead, and the big question remains… who will take home those referral contest prizes?!

ham Ben Wind I joined Pine Island because I am addicted to the game and want to take this next step to improve, make new friends and potential business connections, and have this home away from home. "Life" has delayed the opportunity for me to join a club earlier, with Dad passing and other things that put a hold on joining a club.

I am a native Charlottean raised on the southeast side of town, so when I recently relocated to the Northwest side and "life things" lined up, I knew Pine Island was where I wanted to be. Have had the privilege to play multiple rounds here through business connections, and that only emphasized the decision to join. Looking forward to connecting with everyone and playing lots of golf!

Carin Donnie & Johnson I’m rejoining Pine Island because it never stopped feeling like home, even after I moved to another part of Charlotte and had to step away. What always set it apart for my wife Carin and I was the people, it’s laid-back, friendly vibe and excellent golf course that’s always kept in great shape. Our decision to join Pine Island was driven by my passion for golf, our desire to expand our social network, and the club's convenient proximity to our home in Mount Holly. We are looking forward to meeting new people, attending social events, experiencing golf in new ways, and bringing our two girls to the pool!

Joshua & e c a d n a C Suess Josh and Candace are excited to join the club with their three boys, Sebastian, Alexander, and Javi, thanks to a wonderful recommendation from their friends, the Malicks. With their two older boys playing travel soccer, the family spends plenty of time on the pitch—and when they’re not there, they look forward to making the club and the course their home away from home!

Golf at Pine Island — September 2026 What a busy summer it has been at Pine Island! As we head into September, I want to take a moment to congratulate all of our recent tournament champions, thank everyone who has participated in our events, and look ahead to what promises to be a great fall golf season. Parent-Child Championship We kicked off August with our Parent-Child Championship on Saturday, August 8th. Congratulations to John and Tripp LiVecchi, who took home the championship with an impressive 66 (-5). The LiVecchis won in a playoff over Joe and Reid Ehrler, who also finished at 66 (-5). It was a fantastic finish and a great example of the competitive spirit we love to see at Pine Island! Wednesday Night Men’s League Championship After 17 weeks of competition, our Wednesday Night Men’s League has officially reached the semifinals! The final four teams battling for the championship are: 1. Team Naked on a Scooter 2. Happy Hookers 3. Honorable Society of Strokers 4. Team Noke Seventeen weeks of competition all come down to these final two weeks. Good luck to all four teams as they battle it out for the Men’s League Championship! Couples 9 & Dine — Sports Jersey Night Our August Couples 9 & Dine Sports Jersey Night certainly tested everyone’s commitment to having a good time! After rain delays and eventually being rained out, we weren’t going to let a little weather stop us from enjoying the evening. Thank you to everyone who came out, battled the elements, and helped make the event such a fun night. We appreciate everyone who continues to support these social golf events and make them such a great part of the Pine Island community. GOLF UPDATE STEPHEN KERR HEAD GOLF PROFESSIONAL A special congratulations to all of our participants. Club championships are some of the most competitive and enjoyable weekends of the year, and it was great to see so many of our members competing and supporting one another.

Upcoming Events Men’s Club Championship - September 4th–6th Our Men’s Club Championship is coming up this Labor Day weekend! Friday will feature afternoon tee times, followed by Saturday and Sunday morning final rounds. Good luck to everyone competing, and I look forward to seeing some great golf! Glow / Night Golf - Friday, September 11th We’re turning the lights down and the fun up! Join us for 9 holes of lighted par-3 golf, with dinner beforehand followed by golf, drinks and plenty of fun. This is always a unique Pine Island experience, so be sure to come out and enjoy the evening with us. Ladies Member-Guest - September 26th–27th We are excited to introduce a NEW FORMAT for this year’s Ladies Member-Guest! We’ll have two divisions: Championship / Competitive Division Open / For Fun Division So grab your three best friends — members or guests — and come enjoy a great weekend at Pine Island! Both days will feature an 11:00 AM shotgun start. Whether you’re looking to compete or simply enjoy a fun weekend with friends, we have a division for you!

GOLF UPDATE STEPHEN KERR HEAD GOLF PROFESSIONAL Driving Range & Short Game Practice Area Renovation Updates I know many of you have been looking forward to the improvements to our driving range and short game practice area, and I appreciate everyone’s patience as we work through the process. We were unfortunately a little delayed getting both projects started this summer, so as we move into the cooler fall weather, we’re being especially cautious with our Bermuda turf. Because of that, we will remain on the mats for most of the fall and winter golf seasons. This will give the Bermuda the time it needs to establish itself and come back healthy and strong in the spring. We haven’t undertaken renovations like these in quite some time, so I’m going to continue to defer to Jim’s leadership and expertise as we work through the process. He continues to do an outstanding job making Pine Island’s course and playing conditions better and better, and I want to make sure we give these projects the time they need to be done right. As Always, My Door Is Open As we head into the fall season, I want to thank everyone for making me feel so welcome at Pine Island. It has been a pleasure getting to know more of our members and becoming part of this community. My door is always open, so please don’t hesitate to reach out, give me a call, or stop by the golf shop anytime. Whether you have a question, suggestion, need help with your game, or simply want to talk golf, I’m always happy to chat. I look forward to seeing everyone around the club this fall!
