July was filled with outstanding participation and memorable experiences throughout the club We celebrated record attendance at many of our social events, including our Fourth of July festivities, Yoga, Trivia Night, Birthday Night, and the launch of our new Book Club. Our golf calendar was equally exciting, highlighted by Spring Break 2026 and the always-popular Couples Nine & Dine Casino Night. Whether you spent your time at the pool, on the golf course, on the pickleball courts, or enjoying evenings with friends at the club, it was wonderful to see Pine Island so active and vibrant.
While there were many highlights, the real story of July is our golf course. I encourage you to read Jim's article and take a look at the photos showcasing the renovation of all four Par 3 tee complexes and the driving range. What Jim modestly doesn't mention is the incredible work he and his team have done maintaining our putting greens this summer. Despite enduring heat indexes well above 100 degrees for much of July, our bentgrass greens continue to look exceptional and provide outstanding playing conditions Bentgrass is a cool-season turf that is notoriously difficult to maintain during Carolina summers, so much so that many clubs have invested millions of dollars converting to other grass varieties Yet thanks to Jim's expertise, dedication, and a true green thumb, our putting surfaces continue to thrive despite Mother Nature's best efforts
Looking ahead, August will bring one of the most exciting enhancements we've introduced in years the launch of the new Pine Island Country Club App. We are putting the finishing touches on the platform to ensure everything is ready before its official debut on August 7th. The app will become your central hub for interacting with the club, making it easier than ever to reserve golf tee times, pickleball courts, dining reservations, and club events all from one convenient location. You'll also have quick access to the member directory, club news, statements and payments, and an interactive club calendar. I am especially excited about the new golf tee time system, which will simplify the reservation process while allowing our staff to communicate more effectively with our membership. Watch for additional information, tutorials, and announcements over the coming week as we prepare for launch
Finally, I want to recognize Ms. Ivy for her outstanding leadership during one of the busiest months of the year. She has willingly taken on increasing responsibility while leading our Food & Beverage operation with professionalism and enthusiasm. Under her leadership, she has implemented daily training, refined operating procedures, and elevated our service standards in ways that members and staff alike have noticed and appreciated. We are excited to continue investing in her professional growth as she develops into an exceptional country club hospitality leader Please join me in thanking Ms Ivy for her hard work and commitment to delivering an outstanding member experience

I was born and raised in Charleston, SC. I went to The University of Alabama for undergrad and UNC-Wilmington for postgrad. I've lived in Charlotte for 3 years now and enjoy golf, travel, and commercial real estate investing.
Having recently moved to the area, I came across Pine Island while investigating area country clubs Given its close proximity and great reviews, I reached out about membership and hopefully have found a new golf home!

I’ve been looking for a club for a while but wanted the right combination of enjoyable golf and friendly people. I had heard great things about Pine Island for years but never played here until this year.
After playing with a couple times as a guest, I quickly felt at home, as the people are all down to earth, and the course sets up well for golfers of all skill levels Ultimately, it didn’t take long to realize Pine Island is a great place for me, my kids, and any guests I’d like to host.
August is here! The sun angle is starting to get lower, days are shorter and Bentgrass weather is on the horizon. We continue to strive for optimal playing conditions, while maintaining plant health throughout the summer. Thank you for always being patient in the afternoons with our employees dragging hoses and staying on top of mowing rough.
The par 3 project is coming to an end and now the hard part begins as we patiently await their opening. With proper weather and cultural practices, we hope for a quick turnaround while monitoring the progress to make sure everything is perfect for play. You will find higher quality turf and a much more usable teeing surface
The range tee is stripped, laser leveled and sodded. We will be hitting off the mats for the foreseeable future. There will be no overseeding this year as we let the new grass mature and overwinter without the stress of shade caused by ryegrass overseeding.
The first week of August will begin work on the short game facility. Our goal is to provide a more versatile practice area where you can practice multiple shot angles and be ready to take on the course.
We hope everyone is enjoying the work as much as we are. It is always exciting to improve upon an already stable foundation and continue to grow and quite frankly, we enjoy tearing stuff up!

Club Championship Season
Club Championship season is one of the highlights of the year at Pine Island Country Club, and we look forward to crowning our newest champions.
Senior Club Championship August 29–30
Open to members ages 50+ (White Tees) and Super Seniors 70+ (Gold Tees) This two-day individual stroke play championship will be flighted by Handicap Index with the overall Senior Club Champion determined by the lowest 36-hole score
Ladies Club Championship August 29–30
Our ladies will compete in three exciting divisions:
1. Ladies Club Champion
2. Senior Ladies Club Champion (50+)
3. Ladies Ringer Division (best score on each hole over two rounds)
Junior Club Championship August 29
Our junior golfers will compete in age divisions with tee assignments based on age. We look forward to watching our young players showcase their skills and continue growing the game.
Men's Club Championships
Championship Division September 4–6
Our premier championship will once again be contested over 54 holes of individual stroke play Three days of championship golf will determine the 2026 Pine Island Club Champion
Tournament Division September 5–6
Members looking for a competitive weekend without the full three-day commitment can compete in our two-day Tournament Division, which will be flighted by Handicap Index.
