The Panthers' football season opened on Friday a f t e r n o o n , September 18, against Moore Haven. During the second quarter half­ back George Bonelli ran and side-stepped his way to a 23-yard touchdown. Late in the third quarter Max Christian connected with end Jack Beach on a 66-yard pass. The next play Bill DeMartini ran six yards to score for the green and white. The final score was 12-0, in favor of the Panthers.

The Panthers met the Cardinal Gibbons' Redskins on September 25. The green and white got off to a blazing start with George Bonelli scoring in the first quarter and Mike Thompson scoring a touchdown in the second quarter. At half-time Pine Crest led 13-7. However, the Redskins made a gallant come-back in the second half to tie the final score,which was 13-13.

Pine Crest met Miami Military for their third football game of the season. At halftime the Cadets left the field with a six-point lead. Dur­ ing the fourth period, Max Christian, Bob Blanford, and Jack Beach com­ bined for a 37-yard pass-lateralrun. The Cadets scored the last touchdown to made the final score 31-6.
