MEDFOR D — Councilman Frank Czekay, who clashed just three weeks ago with his counterparts on Medford Township Council over a proposed tree ordinance that would, in most cases, limit the number of trees that can be removed annually from residential properties, has now said he is “happy” with a modified version of the draft law that he contends draws important, but “subtle distinctions.”

However, some longtime supporters of council in recent days have voiced their disagreement and disbelief with its direction, contending the governing body is entertaining too many restrictions at present, especially for an all-Republican governing body, including another potential ordinance that would prohibit the storage of commercial vehicles on residential lots. Some of these individuals have indicated that a one-size fits all approach to the purported problems of

clear-cutting and commercial vehicles does not work in a town with a mixture of a denser developments, rural lots and farmland.
