SOUTHAMPTON—They could be seen celebrating with champagne on the diamond at Memorial Field after the biggest win of the season and this past weekend they were on the back of a flatbed truck, waving and calling out to residents who looked on from their porches. The Vincentown Merchants baseball team was paraded through Vincentown Village on Saturday morning, Aug. 26, in recognition of their second straight Rancocas Valley Baseball

At around 11:30 a.m., a convoy of vehicles, including police cars and firetrucks, brought excitement down the quiet streets of the village as the team, sandwiched in between, made their way to Memorial Field. Parade participants, who passed through Main and Mill streets, turned down Red Lion Road and reached the team’s home grounds, where a
ceremony took place. Volunteers gave out free championship T-shirts to those who followed the parade over to the ballfield. A band, which was set up by a snack bar, greeted the crowd that had gathered. By noon, the team and members of the Southampton Township Committee met around the pitcher’s mound. Southampton Mayor James F. Young Sr.,
who stood at a lectern, read a proclamation honoring the Merchants’ accomplishment. “I, James F. Young Sr., hereby proclaim Saturday, Aug. 26, 2017, as Vincentown Merchants Day in the Township of Southampton, County of Burlington, New Jersey,” he said. Three Redevelopment Projects Supporting Affordable Housing Obligations Approved By Vince DeBlasio

MEDFORD—Medford Township Council adopted three ordinances on second reading at its Aug. 15 meeting, which set in motion redevelopment projects for three properties
