WOODLAND—Concerns, controversy and confusion over the ways that various tracts of land are ‘to be or not to be’ utilized or otherwise supervised were the focus of wide-ranging and lengthy discussions at a Feb. 24 Woodland Township Committee meeting, during which new information was revealed by tow nsh ip officials
regarding some still-unresolved issues. T he topic s at issue range d from the somewhat diminished status of a prospective senior housing development that was once viewed as a potential form of economic salvation for the township to the fate of ramshackle properties to the white-hot dispute over a cellphone tower that has been viewed as both a boon and a detriment to public safety.

SOUTHAMPTON—The branch office of Investors Bank at the corner of Main and Mill streets in the Vincentown section of Southampton Township, a site occupied by a number of different banks over the past several decades, will reportedly close its doors on April 9 as part of the publicly traded company’s plans to consolidate such branch operations this year. The anticipated closing will leave the township with just one open banking location, a PNC branch just north of the convergence of state Route 70 and U.S. Route 206 known as the Red Lion Circle, with a Beneficial branch also previously located near the circle having been phased out. A notice announcing the anticipated closure of the Vincentown Investors Bank branch has been posted on its door, asking customers to travel to 415 Stokes Road in Medford, about six or seven miles away, where a branch is located that notably also offers drive-through service whereas the Vincentown branch does not. Customers were reportedly notified beginning back in January of the bank’s plans to close the office. As of the present time, the future tenant of the building, which has been previously occupied by other banks such as Roma and Sterling and is located at the center of Southampton’s quaint Vincentown Village, is not known. The building, at 52 Main Street was not listed as being for sale online as of March 16. “A bank has occupied that building See BANK/ Page 11
