event host - John Martin

For our 10th Anniversary, there was only one man we could turn to as our Host. So, it’s a warm welcome back to the brilliant (and Flintshire resident) John Martin “A John Martin show is full of energy, excitement and class” Many call John the “human joke factory” because of his encyclopedic knowledge of jokes and this was certainly confirmed when he smashed the World Record for continuous joke telling, when he performed non stop for 101 hours and 39 minutes! A superb writer of comedy, John has written jokes for many household name shows and comedians such as Ken Dodd, Jimmy Tarbuck and the late, great Bob Monkhouse. Today, John travels the world entertaining audiences on top line cruise ships such as Queen Mary 2 and also wowing people at blue-chip events. Away from comedy, John, who lives in Northop, is a keen military historian. His book “The Mirror Caught The Sun” is a must read and recently it was influential providing historical information for the new blockbuster movie “Anthropoid”, a film that John was not only involved in but actually appears in!

Flintshire Business Development Team wish to thank the 2016 sponsors for their support, not just for the business awards but for all their kind help and support given throughout the year
