ATA Museum Building Restoration

For the past year the Thresherman’s Association have been working on renovating the original Museum building. This building was built in 1976 in connection with the Bicentennial celebrations. Many repairs have been done over the years, but this year’s renovations were a major overhaul. The renovation started in July of 2022 and was completed in August of 2023. The first stage was repairing the 39 posts holding up the building. Next came removing the old tin and totally replacing it with new tin. The old meeting room was reinsulated. All the doors were replaced with new doors built by the workers. The gutters were placed back on the building. The final touch was to put in a new electrical service.

Steve Kuhnert donated the use of his telehandler and a building platform. John Dudek donated the use of his building platform. These donations help to ease the work the volunteers were doing. Their help was greatly appreciated.

All of this work was done by many, many volunteers. These volunteers worked countless hours to get this accomplished. The master carpenters supervising these volunteers were Jake Jansen and Adam Hoene. They kept the work moving smoothly and efficiently.

A great deal of sweat equity went into this project. These volunteers should be very prould of all they have accomplished.
