Inside this new quarterly community guide, residents can expect to find City recreation programs, community events, local entertainment, seasonal activities, classes, sports, arts and cultural opportunities and more. It’s a resource for discovering something new, making weekend plans or simply finding out what’s happening around town. A place for Maricopa to share what’s happening. One of the goals of the publication is to make it easier for residents to discover the many things happening beyond just Citysponsored programs. Local nonprofits, community organizations, clubs, schools, recreational groups and other organizations will have opportunities to share their upcoming events and activities through

RECURRING
Maricopa First Friday Downtown brings the heart of the city to life with an evening of art, music, food, shopping, entertainment, and community throughout Maricopa’s Downtown Heritage District. More than a traditional market, First Friday is a collection of experiences spread throughout the district. Visitors can explore local artists and makers, unique vendors, food trucks, live entertainment, street performers, a car and bike show, family activities, sunset yoga, movies in the park, and more—all surrounded by the landmarks and history that make Downtown Maricopa unique. For vendors, businesses, artists, performers, and community organizations, First Friday is an opportunity to connect with the community, showcase what you do, and help create a vibrant downtown experience. Registration for each First Friday opens three months prior to the event date. Ready to be part of First Friday? This multi-day celebration combines community charm with lively entertainment, thrilling attractions, and memory-making events. Stagecoach Days has something for everyone – like the Multigenerational Game Night, the Neon Cowboy Fun Run, the return of Salsa Fest, carnival rides, and live entertainment – It’s more than an event, it’s a celebration of who we are. 21st Annual Seeds of Change Gala: A Royal Christmas Celebration

Join us for this one of a kind Regal Christmas Evening on October 10 at Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino/Resort. The evening begins at 6:00 p.m. with live music by A Touch of Class, a silent auction, raffles, plated dinner and Live Auction with exquisitely decorated Christmas Trees. Come dance the night away with DJ Alex Ortega while Christmas shopping, networking and catching the Christmas spirit! All proceeds from this 21st Annual Seeds of Change Gala are to benefit domestic violence women and children’s shelters, programs and services throughout Maricopa and surrounding communities. Maricopa Veteran’s Day Parade The Maricopa Veterans Day Parade, hosted each year by a committee of local veterans, brings the community together to honor those who have chosen to put it all on the line in service to others. From youth organizations and local clubs to bands, sports teams and community groups, participants of all ages come together to show their appreciation and pay tribute to our nation’s veterans. The parade begins at Central Arizona College off Bowlin Avenue, turns onto Porter Road and continues toward Honeycutt. Saturday, November 7th | 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. | Bowlin and Porter Rd. Merry Copa The biggest event of the holiday season returns on Saturday, December 5.
