summer, I certainly had one of those moments as I watched our Florence Fairies perform for the Jr. NBA half-time show for the first time. As I watched, I noticed parents, grandparents, brothers, and sisters cheering on their little ballerinas, and later, their little athletes. Neighbors were greeting each other and making those small-town connections that are only possible in a tight-knit town such as ours. Creating a sense of community is always one of our main goals as a Community Services Department, but when you see that priority being achieved first-hand, it’s a beautiful sight to Florencesee.

A LETTER FROM THE DIRECTOR

Makes a Difference Day is a perfect example of how our town comes together to make Florence an amazing place to live, play, work, and create that sense of community! During the fall, we have many opportunities for residents to get outside, enjoy our beautiful autumn weather, and meet some of their neighbors new and old. With that, I’d like to encourage all Florence residents to participate in this year’s Florence Makes a Difference Day on Saturday, October 22nd. This is the perfect day to come together, give each other a hand, and tackle a project you would love to see accomplished in our community. Finally, in the lead up to Florence Makes a Difference Day, we encourage our residents to send in any clean-up, project, or beautification ideas to the Community Services Department so volunteers can get engaged on projects that are meaningful to them and they can be proud of for years to come. Have a wonder and Active Fall! Alison Feliz Community Services Director
