LETTER FROM THE DIRECTOR
As we look ahead to the
exciting months of September through December, I want to thank you for making our parks, recreation facilities, senior center, and library such vibrant gathering places for our community. Every season brings new opportunities to connect, learn, play, and celebrate together, and I am proud to share what our department has been working on and what you can look forward to in the months ahead. This year’s Fall/Winter Activity Guide is filled with programs and events designed for residents of every age and interest. Whether you’re looking to stay active, explore a new hobby, attend a family event, or simply enjoy one of our beautiful community spaces, there is something for everyone. One of the accomplishments I am most proud of is the continued investment in our community’s public spaces and facilities. Our team has worked diligently to enhance parks, improve playgrounds, upgrade athletic fields, proactively maintain and complete improvements at the Aquatics Center and maintain the high-quality amenities our residents deserve. These capital improvement projects represent more than infrastructure—they create welcoming places where families gather, friendships grow, and memories are made for years to come. Fall is one of the most exciting times of the year in Florence, and our Community Services Department is ready to welcome you with another season full of fun, learning, and community spirit!

2026 Swim Lessons
The Youth Scholarship Program assists eligible Florence families by providing financial assistance to youth, 17 years and under. The scholarship program is applicable for only Florence Community Services recreation and aquatics programs which require fee payment. Scholarship financial assistance is $200 maximum, per family per fiscal year. Eligibility and assistance are based on Federal Poverty Level Guidelines. The Program Fee Assistance Application is available at the Library and Community Center, 778 N. Main St., or online at www. florenceaz.gov/parks. Applicants must submit a completed program registration form, financial documentation, and the Program Fee Assistance Application to the Community Center.

General Information

Americans with Disabilities Act: The Town of Florence is committed to implementing the intent and spirit of ADA legislation. Those who may need assistance in order to enjoy our programs should email adacoordinator@florenceaz.gov. Please provide at least a 72-hour notice with any special requests. Additional time is appreciated due to Florence’s rural location.
Online Registration How do I get started? To get started, simply open an account. You will be asked to set up a unique Login Name and Password. This account can be used for all members of your household. If you already have a Login Name and Password, please click on the My Account button and sign in. You will be able to access account information, such as your daily schedule, past receipts, prior transactions, and much more.

Community Services Refund Policy Withdrawal Policy Withdrawal requests must be submitted at least five business days before the course start date, except for medical reasons (see Medical Withdrawal and Transfer Requests). Refunds will not be issued once the course has started, except for approved medical withdrawals Refunds for approved withdrawals will be issued according to the Refund Processing section below. Online convenience fees are nonrefundable. Transfer Requests Transfer requests must be submitted at least five business days before the course start date, except for medical reasons. Requested transfer courses must have available space.
If I register online, will I know if I get into a program right away? Yes, the registrations are in “real-time.” If a program has an opening, when you complete your registration you will be registered, and you will receive confirmation that your registration has been received. If a program is closed, you will be able to sign up online to be on the waitlist.
If a transfer request cannot be accommodated and the participant chooses to withdraw, the request will follow the Withdrawal Policy.

How do I know what programs are available online? When browsing programs online, registration availability will be indicated. Verification of Residency: Residents live or own property in the Town of Florence. All others are non-residents. Payment Options: We accept cash, checks, Visa, Discover and MasterCard payments. Waitlist: If you are placed on a waitlist for a course or activity, there is no immediate
Facility Reservation Cancellation Policies Reservations canceled due to weather or other conditions that prevent facility use may receive a partial refund or date/facility change if requested within three business days.
Medical Withdrawal and Medical Transfer Request Requests must include written documentation from a physician’s office.
Refunds issued after the course start date will be pro-rated. Online convenience fees are nonrefundable.
All other cancellation or change requests must be submitted at least 10 business days before the reservation date.

Facility: Facility and park reservation fees are per hour with a two hour minimum. Cancellations due to unforeseen weather conditions that make it impossible to utilize our facilities will be offered a partial refund or the option to change the date/facility. These requests must be made within three business days with a member of the Florence Community Services staff. If the permittee chooses to cancel or move their reservation for any other reason, a request for a partial refund or change of date/facility must be made at least 10 business days prior to the facility rental date in order for the request to be granted. All partial refunds granted will be minus 20% or $10 (whichever is greater). *Field lights and additional field prep incur extra fees
Cemetery Fee Schedule Florence defines a resident as anyone living within a five-mile radius of the city, family members of those recognized as Florence residents, as well as individuals who were born in Florence or have previously lived there. The Town of Florence does not conduct burials on holidays or Sundays. New Office Hours Beginning January 5, 2026, the Town of Florence will transition to a four-day, 10-hour work schedule for the majority of Town operations. Under the new schedule, administrative services for Florence Memorial Park (burial scheduling, plot purchases) will be open Monday through Thursday, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and will be closed on Fridays. Please note that this change will not affect burial schedules; only initial scheduling and administrative coordination will be impacted. For inquiries, please call (520) 868-7583 8

CAC Flor Fall Act Guide 2026 Community

Florence Aquatic Center For pre-schoolers, youth, and preteens; this program lays a foundation for swimming and safety skills. Participants will progress through 5 levels with the end goal of swimming independently and being able to self-rescue in the event of an emergency. First Day: On the first day of the session, swimmers will check into the Swim School group at their registered time. Instructors will do a water assessment with each swimmer, and sort them into classes with students of similar swimming abilities. Date

COOLIDGE / FLORENCE AMATEUR RADIO We are excited to announce that Amateur Radio (Ham Radio) meetings are being held at the Viney Jones Library in Florence, AZ. Featuring an engaging session on the many facets of the hobby, connecting you with fellow amateur radio operators, sharing experiences, and expanding your knowledge in ham radio techniques and practices. Experienced licensed operators are here to help you. Licensed or not, we are here to help you get started in the hobby! We also offer FCC license testing on site at the library.
Don't miss this opportunity to engage with like-minded individuals and enhance your ham radio skills. Discover ways to set up your station in an HOA, learn about antennas, experiment with digital modes using PC software connected to the radio. Get outside, set up and operate your radio equipment. If you are a Florence resident, aged 55+, or a person with a disability, call to request a ride from one of our amazing volunteer drivers. This is not an emergency transportation service. The cost is $12 for the travel. Participants are responsible for the cost of their own meal. In town? We can pick you up! Outside of town?
