Lemberg
Welcome to our 5th Annual Dancing for our Stars! We are glad that you are able to join us tonight. Over the past few months, I have had the opportunity to see a few pictures and videos of each of our dance teams practicing, and let me tell you- tonight is going to be a great night!
If you asked any of our nine celebrities why they subjected themselves to all of the practices and rehearsals, and ultimately why they agreed to dance tonight, they would all give you some variation of the same answer: “It all for the kids!” I hope you remember that tonight as well (especially as you consider voting for your favorite dance teams!).
Some of these dances will make you laugh. Some may make you cry (for good reasons). And some might make you want to dance – we have already started recruiting dancers for next years event. Each of these dancers is here tonight because they want to help our organization have a positive impact on the lives of the youth that we serve, even if it pushes them out of their comfort zone. Our organization is already better off because of their involvement in this event.
So as you enjoy tonight’s event, I hope that you will stand up and applaud wildly and often. I hope that you will help us recognize these dancers for their bravery and vulnerability. I hope that you will help us celebrate their skill and technique. But most of all, I hope that you will join us in appreciating their efforts to make our community a better place for children. We hope you enjoy the show!

Arizona’s youth are facing unprecedented challenges. Today, Arizona ranks 50th in the nation for overall youth mental health, underscoring the urgent need for safe, supportive environments where young people can learn, grow, and thrive.
Across the state, more than 461,000 young people want to participate in after-school programs but do not have access. For working families, the hours after school are critical—and without a safe place to go, youth face increased barriers to academic success, personal well-being, and longterm stability.
For more than 27 years, the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sun Corridor has worked to remove these barriers by providing high-impact, affordable out-of-school programs, caring adult mentorship, and positive environments that foster strong relationships and meaningful experiences. Many of the youth we serve encounter external roadblocks on their path to success. Our Clubs exist to ensure those challenges do not define their future.
Through intentional programming and proven outcomes, we help Club Members develop essential skills, confidence, and real-world readiness. Our work is focused on four priority outcomes that create lasting impact:
Academic
Young people are self-directed learners who succeed academically and graduate prepared for what comes next.
Character
Young people stay true to their values, demonstrate good citizenship, and drive positive change in their communities.
Young people make informed, healthy decisions that support their overall well-being.
Young people gain essential skills, career exposure, and real-world learning experiences that prepare them to navigate adulthood and pursue fulfilling, economically viable career paths.
Dancing for Our Stars is more than an evening of entertainment—it is a direct investment in the well-being, stability, and future success of local youth.
We dance because GREAT FUTURES START HERE.

Angel A. Raymond is proving that even attorneys can bring the drama—in heels, no less! Born in Portland, Oregon and raised in the Seattle area, Angel brings a sharp mind, fearless energy, and just the right amount of sass to the Dancing for Our Stars stage. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Arizona State University and was in the top ten of her Law School graduating class. By day, Angel is a dedicated attorney who finds deep fulfillment in helping people navigate some of life’s toughest moments. By night? She’s trading legal briefs for dance routines.
Angel is married to her biggest supporter, Keith, and is the proud mom of three sons—Andrew (22) and identical twins Kingston and Mason (18). Their household also includes Lady the dog and Meatball the cat, who clearly runs the place. When she’s not working or mom-ing, Angel is passionate about volunteering, giving back, and doing her part to make the world a better place.
Fun fact: Angel can juggle—and yes, she really did attend clown camp in middle school. (Turns out law school isn’t the strangest thing she’s done.) While her childhood dream was to be a stand-up comedian, she jokes that she “settled” on becoming a lawyer instead.
So why dance? Angel sees this as a fun, meaningful way to support a great cause. She may be nervous about the physical demands—especially since the gym is not her favorite place—but she’s excited to learn something new, push herself outside her comfort zone, and deliver a routine that’s as entertaining as it is heartfelt. Confidential work stories aside, this performance will speak for itself.
Allison “Ally” Cruz is a vibrant 28-year-old performer whose love for the arts began at the tender age of three. Growing up in a large family, Ally quickly discovered her passion for dance, and it has been a driving force in her life ever since. A lover of all things performing—dance, singing, theatre, and musicals—she has found a home in Alyssa’s Little Dancers and the Dancing for Our Stars community, where she keeps her dreams alive while inspiring others to follow theirs.
Ally first joined this event as an extra, where she instantly fell in love with the excitement, energy, and purpose of the performance. She then stepped into a professional role last year, and this year marks her second year as a professional dancer. She’s especially proud to have worked with the Boys & Girls Club team to help Maricopa members learn and perform the opening
Offstage, Ally is a certified makeup artist and loves to decompress by painting or writing. She shares her home with four dogs. While she can dance or sing her heart out, public speaking remains a little scary—but her passion and dedication always carry her through.
With her talent, creativity, and infectious energy, Ally is thrilled to be part of this year’s celebration, bringing heart, joy, and excitement to every step on stage.

Christopher “Chris” Cahall was born in Houston, Texas, but grew up soaking in the sights (and bagels) of New Jersey. A graduate of Salisbury State University with a Bachelor of Science, Chris spends his days as an insurance agent—making policies fun to sell, but truly shining when a claim arises. That’s when he gets to guide clients through potentially stressful situations, turning headaches into smooth solutions.
Chris shares his life with his wife, Jocelyn, their three kids—Elliott, Ethan, and Emerson—and a lively menagerie of fur babies: Boston Terriers Hattie and Stella, and rescue cat Quilia. When he’s not busy keeping his household in line, Chris is deeply involved in his community, believing everyone should give back in whatever way they can—whether through time, resources, or support. Fun fact? Chris was the lead singer of his high school band, Islip, and has hiked over 70 miles in the Grand Canyon. From serenading crowds to conquering trails, he’s never shy of an adventure.
Chris jumped at the chance to dance in this competition because he loves supporting youth programs. “Kids are our next leaders,” he says, “and any way we can create a safe, healthy space for them—and maybe get them off their phones—is a win.”
As for childhood dreams, he once wanted to be a garbage man (the treasure hunting sounded exciting) and later considered the forestry service— though he eventually realized the salary wasn’t ideal. Now, he sells insurance… and apparently dances. With heart, humor, and a little bit of rhythm, Chris is ready to light up the floor for a great cause.
Alyssa Mangum has been lighting up dance floors—and hearts—for over 15 years as the owner and instructor of Alyssa’s Little Dancers. Growing up in a small-town dance studio, Alyssa learned early that community is the secret ingredient to nurturing young talent. That passion continues to drive her today, making her a dedicated Professional Dancer for this event. Now in her third year participating, Alyssa and her partner Rusty captured last year’s coveted Mirror Ball, and she’s back, more excited than ever to defend the title. As she says, “When it comes to the youth, I am all in.”
Alyssa’s career is as dazzling as her choreography. She’s trained and performed with renowned companies and choreographers including David Taylor Dance Theater of Denver, San Francisco Ballet, New York City International Ballet, and jazz legends Frank Hatchett and Joe Tremaine. She brings this rich, diverse experience to her students, inspiring them to explore every style and reach their full potential.
Fun facts? Alyssa has a love-hate relationship with feet: “They’re dirty and gross if they’re out wandering. If they’re in shoes and beautifully pointed, then they’re safe,” she laughs. At 16, she danced as Jabber Jaw for Paramount Parks, performing in a giant shark costume with friends.
Why does she keep coming back? It’s the backstage camaraderie. Alyssa loves supporting the kids, but the laughter, cheering, and encouragement from fellow dancers make the experience unforgettable. Her favorite story? Watching a little girl with autism blossom into a confident dancer, proving that for Alyssa, dance is always about heart, community, and joy.

Community support is about showing up — for our neighbors, our communities and the place we all call home. Through employee volunteerism and trusted partnerships with local organizations, we’re proud to work side-by-side to help Arizona thrive.
#1

Jenny Apodaca is no stranger to making bold moves—and now she’s taking that confidence straight to the dance floor. A Casa Grande native, Jenny has spent the last nine years crushing it in Arizona real estate with Keller Williams Legacy One. She was named 2024 Distinguished Realtor of the Year for Pinal County, led her team in GCI from 2018–2023, and claimed the #1 GCI spot in her entire market center in 2024. Translation: when Jenny commits, she delivers—with grit, grace, and a great sense of humor.

By day, she’s helping families navigate life-changing transitions through real estate—something she considers both a privilege and a calling. By night (and weekends), Jenny is deeply rooted in service. She chairs charity golf tournaments (despite openly admitting she’s a below-average golfer), serves on the Board of Directors for WeSERV, sits on the Real Wishes Foundation Board, and co-chairs an annual tournament benefiting The Opportunity Tree. She’s also passionate about education and proudly supports her daughter’s school, Seton Catholic Prep.
At home, Jenny is a proud single mom to three daughters—Alexis, Harley, and Amelia—plus a son-in-law, three grandsons, and two dogs: Pip, a rescue with a comeback story, and Gregory, a golden doodle puppy with maincharacter energy. She’s also a fantasy football champ, fitness enthusiast, and planner extraordinaire.
So why dance? Because Jenny believes fiercely in supporting programs that give kids a safe place to grow, dream, and thrive. Her biggest fear isn’t the choreography—it’s not raising enough to make a real impact. Real estate may be her profession, but heart, hustle, and community are what truly move her.
Richard Argomaniz may have grown up in Yuma, Arizona—but he’s been dancing through life ever since. A proud Yuma High School graduate, Richard has always been equal parts curious thinker and creative mover, which explains why he somehow ended up as both a Business Analyst and a Hip-Hop instructor. Balance, right?
By day, Richard works for Pinal County, diving into technology and helping bring fresh, innovative ideas to the community he loves. He’s passionate about finding ways to make life better for residents—one system upgrade at a time. By night, he’s a husband of 14 years, a dad to three energetic kids, and a self-proclaimed foodie who loves trying new dishes with his high-school-sweetheart-turned-partner-for-life.
Richard’s community involvement is as lively as his dance moves. He’s spent the past year teaching Hip-Hop in town, helped out with school events, and teamed up with the “Kingdom of Pinal” to host youth gaming tournaments. Whether he’s in the classroom, at a console, or behind a desk, his goal is always the same: uplift the community.
Fun fact? He’s left-handed, a documentary superfan, and the kind of person who will happily nerd out about anything if you give him 30 seconds. His biggest dream is to travel the world dancing, sipping coffee, and bingewatching documentaries—preferably all in the same day.
Richard joined this event to hype up local youth and show that Hip-Hop belongs everywhere—even on ballroom floors. His biggest fear? Not bringing his A-game. His biggest excitement? Sharing his passion with an audience that just might fall in love with it too.
His favorite life motto comes from a Las Vegas dance class: “It’s never too late.” Richard lives it, teaches it, and hopes you’ll dance along with him.

Amanda “Mandy” Atler is bringing her flair, energy, and bold moves to the Dancing for Our Stars stage! Born and raised in Seattle, Mandy grew up with a love for connection, creativity, and community—and she’s carried that passion with her to Maricopa, where she’s the proud owner and operator of Mandy’s Wine Bar. Her vibrant wine bar is more than just great food and wine—it’s a space where people feel celebrated, welcomed, and part of something bigger. Mandy holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Western Washington University and an MBA from Seattle Pacific University, and she’s a lifelong student, having taken courses in leadership, global economics, sales, and marketing. These skills help her run a successful business while creating experiences that leave people smiling long after they leave her bar.

When she’s not running a bustling wine bar, Mandy’s world is full of love, family, and community. She’s supported local musicians, small businesses, and fundraisers, always looking for ways to bring people together. Her loyal sidekick, Misty, an Alaskan Klee Kai, often lounges on the bar’s dog-friendly patio, soaking up the energy alongside Mandy.
Fun fact: Mandy has traveled to 42 countries, loves planning and designing experiences, and thrives when she’s fully committed to a project— on stage, in business, or in life.
Mandy agreed to dance for Dancing for Our Stars because she wanted to challenge herself, have fun, and support the Boys & Girls Club, an organization that gives kids a safe, inspiring space to grow. From dreaming of selling airplanes to becoming a wine bar queen, Mandy proves that bold moves— whether in business, life, or on the dance floor—always pay off!
Daniel Kent is a true Dancing for Our Stars original. A professional dancer, coach, and crowd favorite, Daniel has been part of this event since its inception five years ago, returning season after season to bring talent, heart, and show-stopping performances to the stage. This year, he’s raising the bar once again—partnering with two wine bar owners, proving that when dance meets hospitality, magic (and maybe a little sparkle) happens.
Daniel has been teaching dance for over 20 years and coaching competitive teams throughout his career. In 2015, he took ownership of The Studio of Dance after the previous owner retired and successfully grew it to three times its original size. His passion for mentoring dancers mirrors his commitment to the community, especially when it comes to youth-focused causes. “Better programs for our youth equal a better future for them and our community,” Daniel says—a belief that makes supporting the Boys & Girls Club especially meaningful.
His own dance journey began at age 12 and quickly accelerated into competitive ballroom. Daniel became an International Latin competitor and a two-time National Finalist in the Youth Open Latin division. His training spans Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Dance Education, making him as versatile as he is dynamic. In Season 3 of Dancing for Our Stars, Daniel and partner Jennifer Korsten earned the Showstopper Award, solidifying his reputation as a performer who delivers unforgettable moments.
Offstage, Daniel is married to his wife Amber and is the proud dad of five children, ages 8 to 19. When he’s not teaching or rehearsing, you’ll find him snowboarding, golfing, or traveling with his family.
Five seasons strong and still bringing the heat, Daniel is back—wine, rhythm, and all—with his sights firmly set on the Mirror Ball Trophy.

Dr. Nancy Diab Scott was born in Beirut, Lebanon, and moved to Mesa, Arizona, at the age of seven—though she’s proudly called Arizona home ever since. A 1994 Dobson High School graduate, Nancy initially set her sights on law, earning a Political Science and History degree from ASU. But fate (and a love for teaching) intervened while she was studying for the LSATs, leading her to substitute teaching—a spark that turned into a lifelong passion for education. She later earned a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction, a second degree in Educational Leadership, and, most recently, her Doctorate from Northern Arizona University in May 2024.

Nancy currently serves as the Assistant Superintendent of Academic Services for Maricopa Unified School District, where she dedicates herself to fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and resilience among students and staff alike. Outside the office, she shares her life with her amazing husband, Patrick, and their spirited “pack”—Addison, the sassy Chihuahua, and Wrigley, the sweet Pit Bull mix. Together, they cheer for the Chicago Cubs, travel, and create memories wherever life takes them.
A committed community advocate, Nancy volunteers at local events like Kids Day Maricopa, supporting programs that provide safe, fun, and enriching experiences for youth. Fluent in three languages and a former staffer for the Arizona House of Representatives, she brings intelligence, energy, and heart to everything she does.
Why is she dancing? Nancy’s motivation is simple: the Boys & Girls Club. Though she admits the fear of flubbing choreography is real, she’s ready to step out of her comfort zone, raise funds, and light up the stage for a cause close to her heart.
Mindy Sue Melillo is back and ready to steal the spotlight—returning for her fourth season of Dancing for Our Stars! Now calling Maricopa part of her community, Mindy brings her unmatched energy, experience, and love of dance to the stage once again.
Owner and instructor of The Dance Spot in San Tan Valley, Mindy has been dancing for most of her life and teaching for 31 years. Since opening her studio in 2012, she’s made a lasting impact on countless students—her “adopted children”—helping them discover confidence, creativity, and a love for live performance. Mindy has danced with legends like Weird Al Yankovic and Alice Cooper, performed in a Super Bowl halftime show, and even taken her moves overseas to Japan.
A passionate mentor and community supporter, Mindy loves creating opportunities for young performers and giving back to the Maricopa community that now feels like home. When she’s not teaching, she’s cheering on her two sons, Tanner and Joey, or spending time with her soul mate, her dog Waffles.
Her professional triumphs are many, but surviving the challenges of COVID and keeping her studio thriving is high on the list. Mindy returns to Dancing for Our Stars not just for the love of performing, but for the joy of connecting with the community—and, of course, for another shot at that coveted Mirror Ball Trophy, after winning the Judges’ Choice Award in her first two seasons. Rock star dreams? Still alive, and still sparkling—just like Mindy herself.

Richard Jackson was born in Belleville, Illinois, and has been chasing big dreams—and bigger adventures—ever since. After graduating from Lebanon High School and earning his Bachelor of Science in Public Safety and Emergency Management from Grand Canyon University, he did exactly what he’d wanted to do since childhood: he became a firefighter.

Fast-forward 29 years, and Richard is now a Fire Captain and Paramedic for the City of Maricopa Fire and Medical Department. With 23 years serving Maricopa, he still loves the adrenaline, but the real reward is being part of something bigger than himself—showing up on people’s hardest days and helping turn chaos into calm alongside a dedicated team.
Richard’s home crew is just as impressive. He and his wife Andrea have four amazing adult children and three grandchildren who keep life fun, loud, and full of love. And in case his heart didn’t sound big enough, he’s also known as Doctor Dolittle for his habit of rescuing stray animals. If it wanders, Richard adopts it.
He’s also deeply rooted in community life—he’s been involved since Maricopa’s early incorporation, serves on his HOA board, advocates for firefighters at every level, and proudly leads as President of the Maricopa Fire Foundation.
So why dance? Richard has attended Dancing for Our Stars for years and always admired the performers. When asked to join, he hesitated—because let’s be honest, dancing is not in the firefighter training manual. But with a fantastic partner and a great cause, he decided to go for it. His biggest fear? Missing a step. His biggest excitement? Helping local youth and proving that even a fire captain can shine on the dance floor.
Richard already lived his childhood dream—now he’s just adding a little sparkle to it.
Miriam Padilla is stepping into the spotlight with grace, heart, and just the right amount of sass for Dancing for Our Stars! A New Mexico native, Miriam graduated there before studying Humanities in college, laying the foundation for a life rooted in creativity, compassion, and connection.
Today, she wears two very special hats: by day, she teaches kindergarten music, and by night, she teaches ballet to dancers of all ages—proving that rhythm and patience are her true superpowers.
Miriam’s passion for working with kids runs deep. She’s spent 18 years mentoring teens through her church, cherishing the privilege of watching them grow into confident, capable adults. At home, Miriam has been married for 21 years and is the proud mom of four kids (one officially college-bound!). This year also brought both heartbreak and laughter as her family said goodbye to their beloved dog Abby and welcomed Bug—a new pup whose hobbies include guarding the yard from innocent birds and devouring Amazon boxes.
Fun fact: somewhere on YouTube, there may or may not be footage of Miriam dressed as a grandma dancing hip hop. (No further questions at this time.)
Joining Dancing for Our Stars is well outside Miriam’s comfort zone—and that’s exactly why she said yes. She believes uncomfortable things help us grow, even if they come with a healthy dose of nerves. As someone who once dreamed of becoming a librarian (and still loves books), Miriam now writes her story through teaching, mentoring, and dancing for a cause that supports kids every day. And while kids may be brutally honest, their daily compliments make it all worth it.

Tanya Powers is trading coffee cups for dance shoes and stepping into the spotlight for Dancing for Our Stars! Born and raised on a dairy farm in Sandlake, Oregon, Tanya grew up with hard work, determination, and a healthy dose of humor—after all, she graduated from Nestucca High School with a class of just 28 students! A few months later, she married her high school sweetheart, Dave, and they’ve been dancing through life together for 36 years.
Tanya is the proud owner of Honeycutt Coffee in Maricopa, where she pours her heart into creating warm, welcoming spaces for community and connection. Family is everything to her: she and Dave have two grown daughters, Amanda and Taylor, plus two energetic grandkids, Adi (3) and Jacob (6), and three grand dogs keeping life lively.
Community is at Tanya’s core. She donates and volunteers whenever she can, supporting the Boys & Girls Club, Maricopa Pantry, local sports leagues, DSPA Gems, and the Maricopa Library. She’s also a pink-loving, board-gameplaying force of fun, bringing that same energy to the dance floor.
Tanya agreed to dance because she believes wholeheartedly in the Boys & Girls Club mission. It’s her chance to give back, try something daring, and maybe even bust a move or two! From farm girl to entrepreneur to dance-floor diva, Tanya is proof that passion, heart, and a little bit of sass make for the best kind of performance.

Theresa “Tisa” Ellsworth was born in Florence, Arizona, and raised in Casa Grande—where she’s proud to serve her community both in uniform and under the spotlight! Following proudly in her father’s footsteps, Tisa is a police officer with the City of Casa Grande Police Department, spending her days protecting neighbors, solving problems, and making a difference one call at a time. No two shifts are ever the same—sometimes it’s a pursuit, sometimes it’s a missing pillow thief, and yes… occasionally it’s a cow.
Tisa shares life with her incredible husband, Chad Rambo, and their blended family of four: step-son Chayse, ten-year-old Keane, and adult children Adrik and Taryn. Add in two German Shepherds, Reiko and Killian, and the Ellsworth household is never short on energy. From Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and sports leagues to nail art and powerlifting competitions, her crew keeps her on her toes—and she loves every second of it.
An Air Force veteran and former Nuclear Missile Launch Officer, Tisa has never shied away from challenge or adventure. She later found a new passion at SHiNE Dance Fitness, where she now teaches, bringing heart-pumping cardio, positivity, and plenty of fun to every class.
Tisa joined this event to show that police officers have a fun, human side—and to support the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sun Corridor. Her biggest fear? Forgetting choreography (or face-planting). Her biggest thrill? Laughing, dancing, and giving back to the kids who need it most.
Her motto says it all: “If you’re not having fun, you’re not doing it right!” And Tisa plans to live it out loud on the dance floor.
Since the inaugural season, returning dance professional Krisenna Hancock has been a standout presence in Dancing for Our Stars, with each year marking a remarkable journey. She has had the honor of collaborating with outstanding partners, contributing to performances that were recognized with two Mirror Ball Awards, two People’s Choice Awards, and one Showstopper Award. Krisenna shared, “I love the mission of the Boys & Girls Club, and I’ve been inspired by the passion, hard work, and dedication of everyone involved.” With a lifetime of dance experience starting at age three, Krisenna brings expertise in gymnastics, jazz, hip-hop, and various other styles—skills that have all shaped her career. Today, she serves as a World Dance and vocal instructor, directs the Amethyst World Dance Company, and produces the Amethyst Dance Festival.
In addition to her dance career, Krisenna owns Tiara Connection, an online shop specializing in sashes and crowns. As a wife and mother, she balances her commitments with roles as a board member for the BlackBox Theater and The Yoga Recovery and Healing Arts Project and as a moderator for the popular community group -CG Chat! ~ Est. 2012. She is also a vocalist for the Fred Cap Band.
Fun fact: Krisenna once appeared as a judge on TLC’s Toddlers and Tiaras. Whether this year’s prize is a Mirror Ball trophy or a sparkling tiara, Krisenna and her partners are set to give it their all!

Philip “Wildman Phil” Rakoci was born at the legendary Homako “Hope You Make It” Hospital in Casa Grande—on the very spot where Water ’N Ice now stands. After early years in Tucson and Phoenix, he returned to the Casa Grande area in 5th grade and has called it home ever since. Homeschooled through high school, Phil later graduated from Central Arizona College before teaching for CAC, GCU, NAU, and Yavapai College—all while building two businesses and sharpening the wildly entertaining performance skills he’s known for today.

A true champion of misunderstood creatures, Phil blends comedy and education to show audiences why our planet’s “creepy crawlies” matter. Through his signature brand of “edutainment,” he promotes conservation, curiosity, and respect for all living things.
Phil’s family keeps him grounded—and very proud. His wife, Teddi, is his partner in work, life, travel, and every adventure in between. His children are community-minded dynamos: Holly, director of Casa Grande Main Street; Emmi, Artistic Director of The BlackBox Foundation; Archie, TikTok-famous plumber “The_Fridge_Man”; and Mary Jane, now serving local students after years of raising livestock.
As President of The BlackBox Foundation, Phil champions performing arts access for all. And while fans may know he’s been bitten by alligators mid-show, appeared with Coyote Peterson and Conan O’Brien, caught cobras in South Africa, and even beaten a Simpsons illustrator at poker—many don’t know he’s never taken a drink, loves trying new cheeses, and still owns his first pickup.
So why is he dancing? Simple: the kids. Phil insists he cannot dance, but he’s excited to use his platform to support an organization shaping the next generation. Stepping out of his comfort zone for a great cause?
That’s Wildman Phil at his finest.
Samantha “Sam” Page grew up just north of Chicago in Waukegan, Illinois—at least until first grade, when life with a dad who worked for Abbott meant moving around a bit. One of those moves brought her to Casa Grande in 8th grade, where her father helped build the city’s very own skyscraper (yes, the dryer building south of town). Sam attended CGUHS, experienced both the old and new campuses, and graduated with the Class of ’99. Even better, she met her husband, Jake, in high school. Twenty-eight years together, twenty-two married, two grown kids, and what feels like a small zoo later, they’ve built quite the life.
Sam happily juggles multiple jobs, each one feeding a different part of her soul. For 15 years, she’s taught belly dance for Casa Grande Parks and Rec, where her favorite moments are watching students light up when they master a new move. She works with her older son at a local cat rescue— because of course the woman with a home full of animals also helps other furry babies. With her younger son, she teams up with the one and only Wildman Phil, caring for his eclectic mix of critters. She also keeps busy working as a housekeeper for clients she truly treasures.
Sam is a founding member of the RaMagik Belly Dance Troupe, performing at city events for years alongside a group of amazing, talented women she’s proud to call teammates.
So why is Sam stepping into this event? Well… every now and then she challenges herself to try something outside her comfort zone. And when Wildman Phil called saying, “I’ll only do this if you’re my partner,” her arm didn’t just get twisted—it practically got shimmied.
Performing might give her butterflies, but she’s ready to dance for a cause that matters.
