PERALTA REGIONAL PARK Anchoring the northern part of Pinal County, the Superstition Mountains offer scenic trails as well as a museum for visitors to learn about the lore of a legendary landscape rumored to hold the Lost Dutchman Gold Mine. A new addition to this region is Peralta Regional Park, a collaboration between Pinal County and Bureau of Land Management. The park provides visitors exposure to the unique natural character of this upper Sonoran Desert setting. Features include camping, a stargazing node, picnic sites, and more. Connectivity to the Lost Goldmine Trail and Lost Dutchman Park is part of the park’s notable features.

n March we have Coolidge Cotton Days Festival. It is a cherished annual event that pays homage to the city's rich history, particularly its connection to cotton. This
festival serves as a testament to the pride and strong community spirit that defines Coolidge. The roots of Coolidge extend back to the ancient Ancestral Sonoran Desert People, whose ingenuity in farming and engineering is still evident in the area's complex irrigation systems. The legacy of these early inhabitants can be explored at the Casa Grande Ruins National Monument in Coolidge, offering visitors a glimpse into the region's ancient ruins and artifacts. Founded in 1925, Coolidge's strategic location, with the construction of the Coolidge Dam and the Southern Pacific Railroad running through the town, made it an ideal hub for the cotton industry's expansion. Cotton farming has played a pivotal role in the city's development, and the Cotton Days Festival stands as a celebration of this vibrant history.

The festival, spanning three days, is a joyous occasion filled with activities for all. From the Teen Night Dance Contest on Friday to the fantastic Saturday parade and 5K run/walk, the festivities continue with Cotton Bale Rolling, a Beer Garden, a Tractor Show, and carnival rides for all ages. Attendees can also indulge in delicious treats from food booths, explore vendor booths, and appreciate the quilt show hosted by the Coolidge Cotton Patchers at the Woman's Club. A significant highlight of the Cotton Days Festival is the active community participation. Local businesses and organizations set up booths, creating a vibrant atmosphere that involves the entire town.
