CERTIFICATION FOR SAFETY
JKTyre introduced three new off-the-Road tyres – 26.525 Loader Champ 28PR E4/L4 TL, 23X8.50-12 JET TRAX ULTIMA 6PR TL and 23X5.7-12 JET TRAX SUPER II 4PR TL – at the Bauma Conexpo 2023.
The 26.5-25 Loader Champ 28PR E4/L4 TL is a top-ofthe-line, heavy-duty product for articulated dumpers and wheel loaders. It has a high-depth tread with a specially engineered tread pattern that provides excellent traction, mileage and cut resistance under demanding mining operating conditions.

JK Tyre added that the other two newly launched products – 23X8.50-12 JET TRAX ULTIMA and 23X5.7-12 JET TRAX SUPER II – will be launched internationally soon.
The tyres are made for construction vehicles used for ‘NonHighway services (NHS)’ such as material handling vehicles and other vehicles. The tyres’ tread compound, which is based on SILICA, offers better resistance to wear and tear. In addition, the tyres have a sturdy wide wall and rim guard design that offers increased resistance to external harm and better defence against wheel damage in the rim flange area.
Speaking on the launch, Anuj Kathuria, President (India), JK Tyre & Industries, said, “JK Tyre has been at the helm of introducing several cutting-edge and technologically advanced products. Our strong position in the off-the-Road tyre segment resonates with our commitment to innovation and to make products that maximise performance and durability even on the most challenging Indian terrains. We are sure the three new tyres are ‘category defining’ breakthrough products which will further strengthen our position in the OTR tyre market.” n
By ensuring that its tyres, which will be used on US highways, are produced in accordance with the exacting technical specifications imposed by the US Department of Traffic (DOT), GRI, a global leader in high-grade specialty tyres, achieved yet another significant milestone. As a result, GRI tyres will now have the DOT code emboss on their side walls. The certification is given to GRI’s manufacturing facilities in Sri Lanka and is issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) division of the US Department of Transportation (DOT). It follows that all GRI products for various speciality tyre categories produced in accredited GRI manufacturing facilities are tested in accordance with DOT regulations and adhere to relevant US Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS).
Michael Connor, Director of Sales for GRI USA, said “GRI is a globally trusted brand and we have been able to maintain that position for nearly two decades, owing to the stand we have taken to never compromise on quality and technology. As responsible corporate citizens, we believe it is our duty to establish design specifications, manufacturing process specifications, quality assurance programmes and engineering change verification programmes to a level that ensures that all new tyres shipped to the United States, or any destination for that matter, meet or exceed the minimum performance requirements of all applicable safety standards. We are therefore happy to have received this certification in recognition of the work we have always carried out to ensure safety standards are met. We take this opportunity to thank the US Department of Transportation for all the support rendered to receive this certification.” n
