Catching up: More COVID-19 questions and answers As COVID-19 continues to cause concern and consume people’s lives across the globe, Dr. Gregory Poland, an infectious diseases expert and head of Mayo Clinic’s Vaccine Research Group, offers some insights and answers on the status of the pandemic.

Question: Scientists around the world are working feverishly on vaccines, what’s the status of vaccine research?

Answer: The U.S. Food and Drug Administration released a guidance document for the development of COVID-19 vaccines. It’s what we would have hoped for, it’s reasonable and reassuring. It should go a long way toward addressing concerns that urgency could influence the process.

On a global view, one vaccine has already been approved in China. And there are three vaccines in phase three clinical trials, eight in phase two trials, eleven in phase in one and 120 in pre-clinical, including here at Mayo Clinic. Those three that are in phase three clinical trials are the front runners.

Here’s the nuance. These are vaccines that are utilizing methods or vaccine platforms that have not been used before. So a lot of careful safety and efficacy studies have to be done. What we need to do, at some point, is engage in a national conversation about which vaccines are best for which patients. We will also have to know the characteristics of immunity produced by these vaccines. It won’t be simple. This will be a complicated vaccine decision that health care providers and patients will need to discuss, in the months ahead.

COVID-19 vaccines could be released to the public in two ways: through an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) or through

the full regulatory licensing process. The EUA process could result in a vaccine being released this Fall/Winter. Full licensing would likely mean release in the Winter/Spring timeframe.

Question: There’s a flu virus just discovered in China, not related to COVID-19, that’s causing concern. What do you know about that?

Answer: The good thing is we know about this because of the kind of surveillance that’s currently being done. In the past, things like this happened and we often didn’t know about it until they reached the outbreak or even pandemic stage.

The concerning thing is that this is a virus that has avian genes in it, that came out of a pig, that resembles the 2009 pandemic virus. It has the markers of the type of influenza virus that with further changes could become a pandemic virus. Now, that’s speculation and it’s very early. It bears close scrutiny and further testing to understand if this virus is changing or mutating in anyway and if we’re seeing any spread.

But if there’s any vaccine that we would have to make a pandemic vaccine for, an H1N1 influenza virus (and that’s what this new virus is) is one of the easier ones. We know how to do that. We did it in 2009. The concern would be, if something like this were to emerge at the same time that we have an increase in COVID-19 cases, say this fall or winter. We’d be trying to make a lot of vaccine against two different respiratory viruses whose initial symptoms could overlap.

Question: It seems some people think you can’t get COVID-19 outdoors. Could you please address this?

Answer: While it’s true, being

outside gives you the option for better social distancing and you might have wind currents diluting the viruses, etc., you can get infected in any setting where you are not taking adequate precautions.

When you’re outdoors and not around people, you essentially have no risk … but these outside bars and beaches, with people jammed shoulder to shoulder, are definitely putting people at risk. Simply put, when you’re outdoors and around people you need to be in a mask or you run the risk of contracting this highly contagious coronavirus.

Question: How has Mayo Clinic met the challenges of the pandemic?

Answer: I am, personally, immensely proud of the institution I’ve devoted my adult life and career to. Mayo has done what we always do, even in the toughest circumstances of being in the midst of a pandemic, and that is to garner the best data and research, and use it to inform our medical practice.

develop more serious, even fatal, symptoms such as pneumonia, severe acute respiratory syndrome and kidney failure.

Answer: The canvas that we call COVID-19 was absolutely blank 25 weeks ago. We’ve learned a tremendous amount and we scientists are vigorously engaged but we cannot always predict who will have severe disease. So remember your health is a precious gift. Preserve it all cost. Please follow all the precautions that are science based for you, your family, and your community. We care and we want our patients to be safe and healthy.

I remember a conversation I had with several Filipino overseas workers from Neepawa, Manitoba.

The group were dedicated readers of the Pilipino Express and they asked that I write only about the changes in immigration. Their concern was a real one because they need up-to-date information and guidance about changes in Canadian immigration policies, practices, etc. They said as a group, “Please Tito Mike, no more politics.” I thanked them for their honest feedback and have resisted the temptation to editorialize. But today I find myself over exposed to information coming from south of the border and reaching the end of my patience with Donald Trump.

The news over the past few days has been dire for our American neighbours.

The country is experiencing a deep increase in viral infection rates and, yes, there is a strong chance that these numbers will not go away, but rather transition into deaths. As of July 10, 30,000 plus have died in the United States from COVID-19 and the total infection numbers are over 3,000,000 with 50,000 being added daily.

President Trump has mismanaged the entire response and the United States, which represents roughly four per cent of the world’s total population, has suffered over 25 per cent of the deaths and over 25 per cent of the total infections in the world. The United States, at Trump’s insistence, opened up its economy, by individual states, too early and contrary to the best advice of the scientific community. The President assured the American people he was his own best metric, by pointing to his head, to determine how and when the country should reopen. The result of this misinformed action was that while most countries in the world have controlled the viral infections, including Canada, the infection rates in the United States and Brazil continue to rise out of control.

There is nothing to suggest that the Americans, neither the President nor the GOP, have learned from their error. In the case of Trump he does not appear to ever accept that he makes mistakes but he always looks for someone else to blame. In the past he blamed the Chinese for the viral infection even when COVID-19

Trump’s America under review: Immigrants beware appears to have entered the United States from other places such as Western Europe. He continues to ignore the advice of his science experts and depends mainly on his political instincts to guide him.

His concern is not what helps the country but what benefits him personally. An earlier President Truman said of the presidential office, the “buck stops here.” His maxim has been re-written by Trump to say that the “buck stops anywhere but here.” The bad guys in Trump’s estimation are the “others” who protest in the streets that “Black lives matter,” or immigrants such as the Dreamers and international students who he sees as different from him. There is not a nice way of saying that he only cares about those who look like him and vote for him. His appeal is limited to the 30 per cent who ignore social distancing rules and common sense to gather at his ill-timed rallies to shout out their support for his applause lines. His support appears to be decreasing but there is still damage he can do.

He has decided that in the midst of rising infection rates and

the spectre of more deaths that it is time to reopen the schools.

He is concerned that the United States looks bad compared to the countries in Europe who are planning to reopen. Of course, their infections rates are way down and COVID-19 is managed, but this does not matter to Trump. He has decided that normally a functioning America is paramount. His solution is not to control the infection rates, or the testing, or the provision of necessary medical supplies but rather the appearance. If the states cannot meet the safe CDC guidelines to re-open, just change the guidelines. If the children are infected or infect their families, then the CDC is to blame, not Donald Trump.

The Trump plan to reopen the schools seems to pay more attention to the appearance of an opening rather than a safe opening. The universities and all responsible institutions are looking for a safe way to reopen while protecting students and staff alike. Donald Trump has decided that distance education is not the

same. He wants to see classes filled with students, presumably not socially distanced and without masks. He warned the schools that have international students that they could have their study permits revoked unless they attend classes in person. Trump is apparently not interested in the economic viability of the schools based on keeping a portion of international students who pay higher fees nor the health of the student body or teachers. It is a good chance to kick out foreigners, the “others”, and parade the deportation numbers to his rabid supporters.

Target the “others” and “Keep American ––t.” You are invited to complete the slogan.

by Tim St Vincent Finally, summer is here! Time to look back and time to look forward! Well, given what this year has been like so far, maybe we don’t want to look back so much, but we need to, as our past impacts our future.

I know, another article about COVID-19, but only partially. We have all been impacted by it – one way or another. Some of us have had our incomes reduced by it, some of us have actually had – if not our incomes increased by it – have had our savings increased (Really? Yes, really!) This is where we need to look back, in order to look forward.

Let’s look back and see how it has impacted us financially and ask ourselves some questions.

Has your income gone down?

If it has, what have you done about that? Have you looked to your budget to see where you could trim back? Groceries are a key area where savings are possible.

Studies have shown that if you focus on your grocery shopping, you can save 20 to 25 per cent on your grocery bill. Think of that: 25 per cent. That is like three months of free food! My wife is very good at this. She averages around 33 per cent. That is like 4 months of free food. Focus on shopping for items that are on sale, price matching and using coupons. Loyalty point

Has your income gone down but somehow your savings have gone up? Many people are finding themselves in this unusual situation. This is because while income is down, expenses are down even more. For several months it hasn’t been so easy to hop out to grab a quick bite to eat or to go to the movies, play golf or even just go to the park.

All these expenses are down. You aren’t spending as much on gas and maybe you have even saved a few dollars on your car insurance.

The ability to spend our income, discretionary and otherwise, has been very limited. Because of

this, many of us are seeing our savings go up while our income goes down! Very unusual.

This is also a great opportunity to look forward and to see what we can do with our increased savings!

If you are one of those fortunate ones whose savings have gone up during these challenging times, what to do? What are you going to do with your unexpected windfall? This is your chance to look forward. Generally when you run into unexpected money, we recommend you spend it! Yes, that’s right, spend it, spend it all, but spend it with a plan! Spend 40 per cent by putting it into your savings account, because your savings is just money that you are going to spend in the future!

Spend 40 per cent by paying down your debt, and maybe take that last 20 per cent and go out and enjoy yourself. You deserve it!

These have been some challenging times for all of us.

A simple life-saving act of humanity Former US President Jimmy Carter – a Nobel Peace Prize recipient – and first lady Rosalynn Carter, released a photo on Twitter recently from The Carter Center.

They have added their voices and called on the American people to “please wear a mask to save lives” as their country continues its struggle against the onslaught of COVID-19. Always filled with a deep sense of humility and humanity, the couple’s call is an appeal, not a mandated order. It makes their posted message with the photo of them wearing masks even more inspiring – and timely for all. The world needs such leadership at this critical time in our common battle against the deadly viral pathogen.

Indeed, wearing a face mask or cloth face covering when out in public as recommended or ordered by public health authorities is one vital yet simple measure to prevent or slow the continuing community transmission of this catastrophic contagion and, thereby, helps reduce the enormous human toll.

While Canada’s case fatality ratio is double than that of the USA and worldwide, more than two-thirds of the total caseload of patients have now recovered.

Mindful of the community eager for “the great outdoors” and travel, Canada’s Chief Public Health Officer, Dr. Theresa Tam, underscored several pointers in a series of recent statements. (See

the PHAC website for details).

One key message says, “wearing non-medical masks or face coverings is a must when it is not possible to maintain a two-metre distance from others as on board buses, trains or planes.”

Rationale for changing the guidance on the use of facemasks This message is a clear change from what had been conventional wisdom to say “No” to facemasks during the early part of the pandemic. Few justifications had been advanced then, including: 1. may give a false sense of protection; 2. may lead to neglect hand hygiene and cough etiquette; 3. mode of transmission was only via close contact with the infected droplets and not airborne; 4. might do more harm if touched with unwashed hands; 5. no definitive study regarding its effectiveness; and 6. the scarce supply had to be reserved for frontline health care workers. The last two justifications ostensibly were difficult to reconcile unless the two environments – the outdoor public and the indoor hospital settings – created a difference in effectiveness for the same medical mask. Note that these justifications were advanced back then by the World Health Organization, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (USA and Europe), and by the Public Health Agency of Canada.

Meanwhile, use of face mask was nearly universal in Asian countries since Day 1 of the pandemic. Was it merely a cultural difference?

What the medical-scientific community now knows The last three to four months of this seven-month pandemic journey have been a great learning experience for both the medical and the research-scientific communities – not only about the development of vaccines and the demonstration of useful or non-useful drugs, but also more about this new disease and the behaviour of the pathogenic virus. Much has been learned about the spectrum of the clinical severity of the illness (mild, moderate, severe, and critical), the clinical manifestations (respiratory and non-respiratory signs and symptoms), droplet and aerosolized transmission of virus particles, human-tohuman community transmission, the shedding of the virus and incubation period, carriers of virus with or without symptoms of the disease, the availability of rapid diagnostic tests, the changing age-group vulnerability, and the duration of clinical recovery and immunity following infection.

The new body of knowledge that has been gained has informed frontline health care workers and public health authorities to update their approach to managing individual patients and

their advisories to the public, respectively. Specifically, the following provide for the rational use of facemasks or cloth face coverings to help prevent to any degree achievable the further spread of COVID-19: 1. The COVID-19 virus easily spreads between infected people even before symptoms appear or without ever developing any; 2. The virus can spread through talking or even just breathing in addition to sneeze or cough-induced droplets; 3. Heavy breathing and singing can propel aerosolized viral particles farther than two metres and thereby increase the risk of transmission; 4. Infectious viral particles could linger in the air for hours and later be inhaled; 5. The incubation period is long – up to 14 days – and thereby gives a wide window of opportunity for people, even before they know they are infected, to infect others; and 6. Carriers may be most contagious in the 48 hours before they show symptoms, making transmission even more blind.

Thus, people who look well

can have and can spread the virus.

When they shout, cheer and sing loudly, they produce a lot of droplets and aerosolization and enhance their infectivity. The fact that a person with the COVID-19 virus, on average, can spread it to two or three other people makes it twice as contagious as the common flu. Anyone in this type of situation – and that can include anyone of us – is a potential spreader. It is the medical consensus that the main benefit of using a non-medical mask or a cloth face covering when out in public is more to protect others.

Thus, wearing a mask in public becomes a simple life-saving act of humanity.

Feng shui for when your money goes too quickly From time to time, everyone has experienced a dilemma when there’s too ‘much month at the end of the money.’ Expenses can come up suddenly such as an unexpected expensive house repair. It can happen to anyone.

Then, there’s just a case of where money is always a problem and it simply goes too quickly despite your best efforts. You may wonder how to attract money with feng shui, but it’s important to stop the leaks and drains of wealth energy around your house first.

By looking at potential leaks and losses from the outset, you can help stop the drain on your money and then you can confidently apply feng shui to attract prosperity to your life.

Check for poison arrows This is one of the most common ways that money is lost quickly. When the front door to your home lines up with a back door or a window, this is called a poison arrow. This causes money to be drained too quickly from your income. Living expenses and surprise bills can both show up and be draining. It can also happen if you can see out the rear of your house when you stand at your front door.

One way to stop the outward flow is to block the view to the back door or window with a screen, curtain, or a plant.

Seeing the toilet from the front door Whenever you enter your house, it’s important not to view a toilet from your front door, or money will fail to accrue. Find a way to block the view of the toilet so that you don’t see it from the front door.

This can also happen if there is a toilet over your front door on the second floor. This is quite inauspicious and can cause money

loss. If your home is arranged this way, keep your foyer light on to help lift the income and wealth chi at your front door.

Burning through money from the fireplace Another potential for loss of money is if you can see the fireplace from the front door or if the fireplace is opposite the front door. Again, this requires some type of block such as a screen or curtain of you can literally and so symbolically burn through money too fast.

Reflecting the front door in a mirror Always ensure that a mirror is never placed opposite the front door or it will push income and opportunity right back out every time you enter the house. It’s also important to check all the mirrors in the house. One client of mine had placed a mirror very high on a wall and you could not see the front door in the mirror, but when you went upstairs, you could see the front door reflected perfectly.

This was the source of money loss in this home.

There is no path or walkway to the front door or the pathway is obstructed or broken Chi is an energy that requires a path to follow. That’s why streets conduct water so easily in a rainstorm; they allow the water to move easily. When there is only grass going to your front door, this can cause you to have financial difficulties. A solid concrete path is the best way to ensure energy flows to your front door.

Currently, there are walkways to the front door that are made up of slabs that have stones between them. This break in the smooth flow of chi will cause the financial flow to weaken. A smooth, solid path is the best way to conduct money chi to your home.

Water leaks are draining your finances Whether it’s a faucet or tap that drips slowly or there’s a leak that’s undetected, water lost is wealth lost. Check all pipes and faucets for leaks and repair anything that isn’t drip-free. Be sure to check exterior faucets and underneath sinks for leaks. This can also include toilets that have lost their seal and frequently have to refill — this, too, is a source of money loss.

A bathtub that can be seen from bed can cause both financial loss and harm health and relationships

Seeing your toilet or bathroom sink or shower from bed You should not see, nor hear water, while you’re sleeping. If there is any sink, shower, toilet or tub you can see while you’re in bed, you may not just lose money, but imperil your health. This can cause a loss of health. Ensure that you can’t see any type of plumbing from your bed.

The rear of the home slopes away from the house When there is lack of support from behind, the house can pull your financial energy down with it. A house requires good support from behind, so if yours slopes away, add a stand of five trees or a lamp post at the rear of the property to help lift the energy and give your home support, and

stop wealth chi from running away.

The bed is on the same wall as the door Unpleasant surprises that cost you financially can occur when your headboard is lined up on the same wall as the door. Ensure that your bed is always across from the doorway and where you can see it easily.

FENG SHUI Q&A Question: I’ve lost my job because of COVID19 – how can I get a new one quickly?

Answer: I’m really sorry to hear that, but let’s see what we can do to bump up your chi. The front of your home is where chi enters, so no matter what type of home you live in, do what you can to spruce it up by cleaning the porch light, dusting the door,

Wish Ko Lang! returns for a special season this July Wish Ko Lang! – one of the most well-loved public service programs on television—returns on-air for a special season this July.

The award-winning program hosted by GMA News pillar Vicky Morales is set to bring hope and inspiration to Filipinos by opening its doors to deserving individuals in this time of great need.

“As the world continues to face the pandemic and its effects on our lives, there is a need for us to be inspired, to be reassured that we will get through this together.

His mother, on the other hand, has tuberculosis. What little savings Manny has he intends to use for his enrollment and to buy items to play basketball. But given his new role in the family, he is now unsure if he can still go to school.

Meanwhile, Joan used to sell fruits in Laguna, while her husband Sherwin used to be a construction worker in Rizal.

When the enhanced community quarantine was implemented, both lost their jobs. Sherwin became a localized stranded individual (LSI) who can’t go home to his family. Joan was left no choice but to take on work to provide for their family. She applied for a construction job in their area and at the same time took a house help job as a sideline. Joan worries about Sherwin and hopes to be reunited with her husband.

Her wish is that they could face the hardship brought about by the pandemic together.

The program will also be asking viewers to send in their most urgent wishes so these may be featured in future episodes.

The show will go on for local theatre festival Sarasvàti Productions announces FemFest 2020

This fall, local audiences will enjoy diverse talent from across Canada during the eighteenth annual FemFest. The festival, which runs from September 19 to 26, will feature local talent as well as nationally-regarded theatre artists. With an emphasis on telling stories that have not always been heard, FemFest 2020: Engaging Community, is set to be one of the most memorable yet.

“We’re really proud to feature artists who are not only great at what they do but are also representative of the diverse communities here in Winnipeg,” says Hope McIntyre, Artistic Director. “We chose the theme ‘Engaging Community’ because that’s exactly what we want to do. We want families, community

groups, everyone to come out and enjoy the magic of theatre.”

Tita Collective will bring their show Tita Jokes to FemFest.

A Filipinx-focused musical sketch revue, the show features original music and laugh-out-loud sketch comedy.

The troupe won the 2019 Steamwhistle Producers’ Pick at the Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival, Best Newcomer at the Montreal Sketch Comedy Festival, and the Second City Outstanding New Comedy Award and Tarragon Theatre’s Mainspace Patrons’ Pick at the 2019 Toronto Fringe Festival.

They were featured as part of the 19 Asian Millennial Women You Should Know listing by Cold Tea Collective.

Tita Collective is an allFilipina collective composed of award-winning playwrights, comedians, musicians, dancers, theatre makers and actors. They explore different mediums to tell the stories about the Filipinx diaspora. The group includes Ann Paula Bautista, Belinda Corpuz, Isabel Kanaan, Ellie Posadas, Alia Rasul and Maricris Rivera.

An array of local and national work will fill out the festival schedule from September 19 to 26. Tickets are 15 dollars for single shows and a full festival pass is available for 50 dollars.

Racist at mangmang “Bakit ang taba mo yata ngayon!”

“O, bakit naman hanggan ngayon e, wala ka pang asawa?”

“Mag-asawa ka na, sayang ka, maganda ka pa naman!”

“Ano ba yang suot mo, ang baduy naman!”

“Napakaitim naman n’yang boyfriend mo!”

“Hoy, pango!”

Ito ang mga offending na salita na nakasanayan na natin sa Pilipinas o minsan nadala pa natin dito sa Canada. Bunga ito ng ating kasaysayan, karanasan at kolonyal na impluwensya na naghubog sa kaisipan ng karamihan na kapag puti ay maganda, kapag magaling mag-English ay matalino, na ang babae ay dapat sa bahay lamang, na kapag Kapampangan o Batangueño ay may kahanginan, na kapag Boholano o Ilocano ay kuripot. Lahat ng ito ay mali!

Lahat ng ito ay isiniksik sa utak ng mga Pilipino para manatili silang mababang uring lahi at para sila magkahati-hati. Divide and conquer ang atake. Ang ganitong istratehiya ng panlalason ng utak ng tao ay epektibo pa rin. Kapansin-pansin ang patuloy na polarisasyon o pagkakahatihati ng mga Pilipino sa larangan ng paniniwalang politikal na ginagamit ng mga pulitiko para sa sarili nilang kapakinabangan. Sa dulo, talo pa rin ang taumbayan.

Nagbabago ang lipunan. Ang mga dating parang okay lang na sambitin o iparatang sa tao

ay hindi na appropriate ngayon at may mga pagkakataong may katumbas itong kaparusahan.

Ang pagkakapantay-pantay ng tao sa kabila ng pagkakaiba ng kasarian, kulay, pananampalataya at paniniwala ay itinataguyod sa buong mundo. Ngunit sa kabila nito, ramdam pa rin natin ang diskriminasyon dahil ito ay nasa sistema na ng lipunan sa Pilipinas man, Middle East o dito sa North America. Bagama’t ang buong mundo ay nagsusulong ng equity, mayroon ding mga leaders ng mga bansa ang walang kaduda-dudang imahe ng pagiging racist, pasista at diktador. Ang nakakalungkot, maraming mga tao sa mundo ay utu-uto at mangmang.

Kadalasan, hindi natin napapansin na tayo ay racist din.

Bakit kailangan nating itanong ang lahi ng isang tao? Halimbawa, may bagong pasok sa opisina o bagong estudyanteng ka-klase ang anak ninyo. Napansin ba natin na lagi tayong partikular sa lahi or race? Bakit? Does it make any difference kung katutubo ang naging manugang mo, na bumbay ang best friend ng anak mo o tagaAfrica ang doctor mo? Bakit okay lang kung puti?

Tayo mismo ang nagsisimula ng racism sa buhay at pamilya natin. At kapag kinalakihan ng mga miyembro ng pamilya ang ganitong paniniwala, ito’y magiging normal na lang sa kanila hanggang sa dalhin nila ito sa kanilang pakikisalamuha sa ibang

tao at pagbubuo ng pamilya.

Alam kong may mahalagang role ang mga leaders ng lipunan, celebrities at mga social media influencers sa kung paano mabago ang behaviour ng mga tao.

Napapansin n’yo ba na kapag lagi nyong pinapanood ang paborito ninyong YouTube blogger ay bukambibig n’yo na ito at minsan pa ay naiimpluwensyahan na nila ang inyong mga paniniwala? Kaya nga, dumarami nang dumarami ang mga trolls o yung mga bayad na mga bloggers at profiles upang lasunin ang kaisipan ng mga tao. Karamihan dito ay mga propaganda na ipinadadaan sa modern at epektibong plataporma tulad ng Facebook, YouTube at iba pang social media. Halimbawa: Nagkaroon ng posisyon ang ACTCIS bilang partylist sa kongreso ng Pilipinas. Ibig sabihin, epektibo at napapaniwala ang tao sa kung ano ang i-endorso ni Raffy Tulfo. Idol nga tawag sa kaniya, hindi ba? At kapag tumaliwas ka sa mga followers ni Tulfo at ng iba pang mga sikat na influencers ay puputaktihin ka ng bash, pagmumura at pag-aalipusta ng mga panatiko.

Kung ating pag-aaralan, nawawalan ng sariling paninidigan ang mga tao. Sunod na lang sila nang sunod sa kung ano ang sabihin ng kanilang idol o

leader. Kapag sinabing okay lang ang martial law ay susunod din sila dahil sa inindorso ito ng kanilang leader. Kapag sinabing sumama sa people’s initiative para sa ABSCBN ay sasama ang marami dahil pakiusap ito ng kanilang idolong artista at hindi para sa anumang isyu. Ang masakit dito, kadalasan ay hindi alam ng nakararami ang ibig sabihin ng mga pangyayari sa lipunan. Hindi nila alam ang kanilang sinusuportahan at wala silang kaalam-alam sa tunay na dahilan ng mga pagbabago at isinusulong sa lipunan.

Sounds familiar? Parang Winnipeg lang din hindi, ba?

Kapag may bagong FB group, sasama dito kahit hindi alam kung para saan ito. At nagkalat din ang walang kakuwenta-kuwentang mga programs sa social media na dapat sana ay ginagamit para mag-educate at mag-inform, pero puro lang batian nang batian dahil habol lang ay kumita ng ads.

Huwag na kayong magpaipokrito.

Batu-bato sa langit tamaan ay guilty.

Hindi ko alam kung saan mauuwi ang article ko ngayon.

Nalulungkot lang kasi ako sa nangyayaring polarisasyon sa mundo at ang pagdami ng mga taong hindi nag-iisip. Nagagalit ako sa mga leaders ng bansa na sila mismo ang nagsusulong ng

pagkakahati-hati ng tao.

Ang naiisip ko lang na magandang solusyon sa mga pangyayaring ito ay ang pagtataguyod natin ng pagmamahalan at respeto sa loob mismo ng ating tahanan. Bumuo tayo ng maayos na lipunan sa pamamagitan ng paghubog ng maayos na tao sa ating mga tahanan. At huwag nating ipakita sa ating mga anak na tayo ay alipin at panatiko sa mga leaders o celebrities. Mag-isip kapag may time.

Huwag puro thumbs up sa posts ng inyong paboritong blogger. Maging sensitibo, huwag maging racist at mangmang.

Anthony Rosaldo launches new single The Clash Season 1 alumnus Anthony Rosaldo tells a story about two individuals who found love at the wrong time in his newest single under GMA Music titled Puwedeng Tayo.

The song was written by Vehnee Saturno, Davey Langit, Jonathan Manalo, and Edwin Marollano during the first ever FILSCAP Master Camp.

The Kapuso singer revealed that choosing this song for his next single was an easy one, a step towards reinventing himself as an artist.

“Very skeptic ako noong naghahanap ng next song for my single. I really wanted to reinvent my music, give my listeners a new one to fall in love with. And then came the day for my song listening (listening session). Ito yung mamimili na ako ng song. Funny kasi I will be presented only one lang pala. And the reason is, Sir Kedy Sanchez found the perfect one na. Nagustuhan ko agad ang Puwedeng Tayo when I heard it.

Fresh music, easy listening and very relatable story.”

He recorded the song in his own home during quarantine. The other people who were part of the recording, such as the musical arranger, the backup vocalists, and the guitarists, as well as the vocal processing were also done in their respective homes. Only the final mixing of the song was done in the studio. Anthony described this experience as “fun and challenging at the same time.”

“Iba kasi yung nagre-record ka under the supervision of a professional. Sure ka na maganda

ang kalalabasan. Tapos this time, it was all up to me. Pero siyempre, I tried to do my best. Perfectionist kasi ako sa sarili kong work so I really made sure na maganda yung quality ng ipinasa kong material,” he shared.
