FRIENDS OF THE THEATRE If you enjoy the theatre, why not become a Friend of the Theatre?

Friends of the Theatre is an organisation where members volunteer to work in various aspects of the theatre such as ushering, bar, candy bar and program selling. Friends receive discounts to many of the shows listed in Spotlight, and also receive this newsletter mailed direct to them. Each time a Friend of the Theatre works they receive a Performance Work Voucher, which is exchanged for tickets to events. Unlimited seats are available in exchange for Performance Work Vouchers on events in Spotlight bearing the blue star symbol. For other events, voucher seats are limited to a total of six seats per performance. Further details as well as membership forms are available from the Box Office.

GENERAL INFORMATION Theatre programs start promptly at the advertised start time and latecomers will not be admitted until a suitable break in the performance. Smoking is not allowed in any part of the Pilbeam Theatre or other Council venues. The use of cameras and recording devices during performances is illegal and penalties for infringement of copyright in this way are severe. Please ensure all mobile phones are switched off before entering the auditorium. Crying or fidgety children can be a distraction to other theatregoers and performers, so if you bring your small child to the theatre, please book an aisle seat in case you need to exit the auditorium.

2013 See It Live Season The 2013 See it Live Theatre Season is a great selection of shows from a variety of producers from both Queensland and interstate. This year’s See It Live Season is an exciting selection that features some companies performing for the first time on the Pilbeam Theatre stage and some making a welcome return.

There is fine music, classical and contemporary dance, drama, comedy, opera and more. Of course we also have own musical, the award winning Chicago, to be staged in March.

Singapore Armed Forces Music and Drama Company One of the most popular live acts in the Rockhampton Region, the Singapore Armed Forces Music and Drama Company, will return for a series of concerts in November, titled Thank You Rocky, For The Rolling Good Times. The concerts will include spectacular multicultural items, pop and rock hits, oriental music and Singaporean favourites performed by the various ensembles. Limit 4 tickets per customer. When Grandma Letty is voted Grandmother of the Year and Stanley’s house is besieged by reporters and photographers, Stanley is afraid that the exposure will jeopardize the chances of his serious new novel, and so he has to produce a Grandma with farcical results. Dance Infusion’s Dance Spectacular Dance Infusion students are set to hit the stage with their annual dancing concert which celebrates the studio’s 20th year. The concert is a spectacular display of many facets of dance including tap, jazz, classical ballet, contemporary, acrobatics & hip hop. This year’s concert will be a journey and celebration of the achievements of the studio over the last 20 years. Performers start from the age of 3 and all are keen and excited to be involved. With over 100 students taking to the stage for the annual spectacular, Dance Infusion’s Dance Spectacular is a must see for all dance lovers.

Carols By Candlelight Carols by Candlelight is Rockhampton’s premier Christmas event, raising over $150,000 for local charities over the years. In December, Carols By Candlelight moves to a new venue, the Rockhampton Heritage Village.
