FRIENDS OF THE THEATRE

If you enjoy the theatre, why not become a Friend of the Theatre? Friends of the Theatre is an organisation where members volunteer to work in various aspects of the theatre such as ushering, bar, candy bar and program selling. Friends receive discounts to many of the shows listed in Spotlight, and also receive this newsletter mailed direct to them. Each time a Friend of the Theatre works they receive a Performance Work Voucher, which is exchanged for tickets to events. Unlimited seats are available in exchange for Performance Work Vouchers on events in Spotlight bearing the blue star symbol. For other events, voucher seats are limited to a total of six seats per performance. Further details as well as membership forms are available from the Box Office.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Theatre programs start promptly at the advertised start time and latecomers will not be admitted until a suitable break in the performance. Smoking is not allowed in any part of the Pilbeam Theatre or other Council venues. The use of cameras and recording devices during performances is illegal and penalties for infringement of copyright in this way are severe. Please ensure all mobile phones are switched off before entering the auditorium. Crying or fidgety children can be a distraction to other theatregoers and performers, so if you bring your small child to the theatre, please book an aisle seat in case you need to exit the auditorium.

Rockhampton Dance Festival 2017

Capricorn Food and Wine Festival The Capricorn Food and Wine Festival is the premier event showcasing gourmet food and wine for Central Queensland and surrounding regions. Over three exciting days and nights, the Festival will host signature dining experiences, food and wine master classes and interactive cooking classes.

Come celebrate the 15th annual Rockhampton Dance Festival in the September/October school holidays. The competition will run from Wednesday 20 September to Sunday 1 October, with the trophy/ awards presentation after the last section on Sunday 1 October. Everyone entering the theatre during the Festival must have a ticket (including competitors). Diary of a Wombat

Isla Grant in Concert

Rocky Flix: Lady Macbeth

Scene from a Chair

Set in rural England in 1865, this film has nothing to do with Shakespeare. Katherine is sold into a loveless marriage to a bitter man twice her age, and his cold unforgiving family. Based on a classic Russian novel, Lady Macbeth is both timeless and timely: a devilishly dark and radically original twist on a period film.

Titled Scene from a Chair, the Royal Queensland Art Society Rockhampton Branch’s annual Art Exhibition is opening at the Walter Reid Cultural Centre on Friday 13 October. Drinks and Preview from 6.30pm. The Exhibition will feature over 100 new artworks by local artists from Rockhampton and the Capricorn Coast Area. A special feature this year will be a number of chairs painted in different themes by some of the artists.

With sons and daughters at war in Belgium on the Western Front, war has broken out at home back in Gayndah. In 1917, the ladies of the Feel Good Society and the Red Cross take up their positions on The Home Front - let the battle for the 2nd referendum on Conscription commence. A moving story about women during war and the power of the post.

Les Miserables

Halloween at the Heritage Village

Set in a time of economic strife and famine in 19th Century France, Les Misérables is a completely ‘sung-through’ musical. With great songs and sweeping choruses including I Dreamed a Dream, Bring Him Home, On My Own, and Do You Hear the People Sing, Rockhampton Musical Union’s annual musical is sure to entertain.

It’s spooky and it’s creepy, but it’s a whole lot of fun. Get dressed up in your best Halloween costume and head off into the dark on a tour around the Village grounds. Family fun at its best! Price includes burger or sausage in a swag. No tickets at the gate.

Morning Melodies - Vov Dylan For the first time at the Pilbeam Theatre’s Morning Melodies comes Vov Dylan, violinist extraordinaire.
