Grigoryan Brothers This Time Duos are common enough in the musical world, but sibling duos are a rare thing. Slava and Leonard Grigoryan are that rare thing. There is no rivalry, only the bonds of family and a love of music. Since their first acclaimed Australian tour in 2002, Slava and Leonard have astounded audiences worldwide with their guitar virtuosity. This Time highlights the brothers’ astounding skills which are at the core of the critical acclaim they have achieved in Australia and on the international stage. The concert features works by internationally acclaimed composers who have entrusted their creations into the worthy and welcoming hands of the brothers. Combine this with their classical training and the result is a unique sound incorporating all these influences. It is not classical, not jazz, not world....it is the Grigoryan Brothers. Ian Moss

CounterMove Sydney Dance Company

Still respected as one of Australia’s iconic musicians, 5 times ARIA winner Ian Moss will deliver a special two hour performance to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Six Strings album. The Six Strings tour is a complete evening with Ian Moss that will be the perfect intimate setting for audiences to experience the powerfully resonating classic hits from that renowned Six Strings album as well as the big hitters from his Lets All Get Together and Soul on West 53rd albums. The show will include all the Cold Chisel/Ian Moss classics, performed as only Ian can.

Sydney Dance Company’s CounterMove explores luminescence and life in a double bill that will enchant, compel and amuse with exhilarating physical dance by some of Australia’s finest dancers. From one of the world’s most exciting choreographers comes a laugh-out-loud funny and affectionate tribute and parody of modern art: Cacti. Swedish Alexander Ekman’s witty and energetic piece, performed by the full Company and a string quartet, will take you in with a knowing wink, then surprise you with its bracing physicality. Cacti has been on tour since it premiered in 2013 performing to sold-out houses delighting critics and audiences alike. The second work, Rafael Bonachela’s world premiere, Lux Tenebris, provides the perfect contrast: light and darkness emerging from a dusky sonic landscape by composer Nick Wales (long-term collaborator of Sarah Blasko). Movement follows deep, unexpected, visceral beats, and sharp, sudden twists to discover a dark place where there is space for beauty and light. Bonachela’s work, as always, is deeply emotional. CounterMove will intrigue, move and entertain you. Don’t miss out. Presented by Rockhampton Regional Council. Part of the 2016 See It Live Theatre Season.
