Welcome Welcome to the 2014 Rockhampton Show – one of our Region’s premier community events, attracting visitors, show entrants and exhibitors from across Australia.

Our show, 141 years old this year, is a great example of a local event evolving with the community it serves – from the early days when it was very much an agricultural show right through to the show it is today, with its Sideshow Alley, show bags and ever-popular dagwood dogs, waffles and more.

The sustaining factor in the ongoing success of the Rocky Show is community involvement. Even though Rockhampton Regional Council has produced the show over the last several years, the Show still relies on the hard work of many volunteers who give their time in a whole range of areas to ensure the event’s success.

Looking to the future, the Rockhampton Agricultural and Citizens’ Show Society was formed last year and will continue the proud tradition of the Rockhampton Show from 2015.

But to do that, they need your help. I encourage you to join the society and volunteer.

Members of the society will have a booth at this year’s show, in the Walter Pierce Pavilion.

Please take the opportunity to talk to some of its members and volunteer if at all possible.

If we all pull together I am sure the Rocky Show will go from strength to strength!

Join Lollipop, your favorite Clown, and brand new Street Science Show on the Stockland Stage in the Kele Pavilion daily from 10am.

Head to the Exhibition Pavilion and get involved in our FREE Bubble Muffin kids cooking, sponsored by Drake’s Supa IGA. Places are limited to 25 per class so make sure you line up in advance. Kids will be entertained and educated to make healthy cooking, eating and lifestyle choices. They will make a feature dish at each class between 11am and 4pm daily.

by Rockhampton Prestige and Toyo Tires, in Centre Ring from 12 noon and 6pm.

Finish the perfect day with the spectacular Fireworks at 8.30pm.

Stop by Old MacDonalds Animal Farm to pet the baby cows, lambs, piglets, chickens and goats.

Keep an eye out as you are wandering through the show for the very, very tall Gemma the Giraffe, the beautiful long stems and the Jolly Chefs!

Head to the Showbag Pavilion and check out the awesome Showbags on offer.

In the Cremorne Area you can see the Crackup Sisters Homestead Show at 1pm, 2.30pm and 4.30pm each day.

Make your way to Sideshow Alley to try your hand at the games or enjoy family rides like the dodgem cars, and then to Kiddies Corner for a spin on the Merry-go-round.

Cruise on in to Sideshow Alley the liveliest area of the show to win some fabulous prizes, or scream your heart out on the Mega Drop, Speed and the Zipper See the latest trends from the Fashion Parades at 1pm and 3.30pm daily on the Stockland Stage plus a special show on Friday at 6pm.

Mark’s quick wit, one-liners and his cheeky sense of humour will keep you wanting more. Mark will be hypnotizing his ‘victims’ at 1.30pm, lunch and 4pm daily on the Stockland Stage in the Kele pavilion Head into the Pavilions to see the impressive displays of needlework, woodwork, cooking, cake decorating, preserves, and floral art.

Come and see the QEIG Model Train Display in the Exhibition Pavilion. See how easy it is to build and enjoy this hobby. Check out the buy and sell second hand trains while you’re there and start your collection today!

Take a walk to the McCamley Pavilion to see the Photography displays by some of the regions most talented photographers.

Take a seat in the Centre Ring Grandstand to see the fierce Wood Chop and Horse Jumping competitions including new State Championship 6 bar and the Invitational Masters Jumping.

Also in Centre Ring, the Lumberjack Show at 7pm is Australasia’s most popular lumberjack extravaganza! Danger, excitement, thrills, spills and side-splitting hilarity, wood chopping, axe throwing, log rolling, pole climbing, chainsaw juggling and more!

Rockhampton Prestige and Toyo Tires present the brand new Team DMAX in Centre Ring at lunch and from 6pm. Dust, drags, drifting and hair-raising cross overs will have you on the edge of your seat!
