Welcome It is my pleasure to welcome all visitors, whether local or from afar, to the 2012 Rockhampton Show.

Our region’s events calendar is as diverse as it is exciting, and the Rockhampton Show makes a significant contribution to our region’s vision of becoming one of the most liveable communities in the world.

It takes many people to ensure the success of an event such as this, and I congratulate and thank the Show Working committee, the volunteers, staff members and representatives from throughout our community for their contribution in making this event better than ever.

The local Show is a pivotal part of our community life, creating jobs and business, attracting tourists and bringing about a real sense of pride in our community.

It’s no wonder we love living here!

Showgirls 2012

The 2012 Miss Showgirl Quest was again a wonderful success with our six entrants raising much needed funds for the RACQ Capricorn Helicopter Rescue Service. Money was raised from various functions organised by the entrants including triva night, afternoon tea, money boards and the Showgirl Dinner. The overall winner, Kirby Ramm, will now go onto represent the Rockhampton show at the CQ Sub Chamber Judging held in Rockhampton on 7July 2012. All entrants will be at the show over the three days, so come and say hello to them.

Kirby Ramm - Miss Showgirl sponsored by SMW Kirby is currently employed by Rockhampton Regional Council as well as studying psychology at CQ University. Kirby loves playing sports, hanging out with friends and wants to travel the world.

Tiana Spence Sponsored by I Assist Works for I Assist, spreads her time between family, friends, shopping, music, volunteering and is the secretary of the Leo’s Club.

Brittany Lester sponsored by Soaked Swimwear Works in customer service, studies at university and enjoys milinery, painting and pottering in her vege garden.

Start the show with a visit to Viv’s Animal Farm.

Feed the baby animals at 9am and 6pm daily and learn some interesting facts about all their animals while enjoying being up close and personal to them.

Join Lollipop, your favorite clown, three times daily at the Stockland Community Stage in the Kele Pavilion daily from 9.30am.

In the Cremorne area, be amazed and entertained by Super Hubert and his special car with a magical comedy show you’ve never seen before.

Pad over to the dog area to see all the different dogs as they parade for the judges in Friday’s Dog Show.

Head to the Exhibition Pavilion to make your own memory of your day at the Show, at the free photo booth, and to see the scarecrow displays.

Romp down to the Cremorne area and find a hay bale to watch the awesome performance of Erth’s Dinosaurs and Petting Zoo at 11am and 2pm daily.

Keep an eye out as you are wandering through the show for the towering Waterdrop Entertainers as they blow huge bubbles from

their special wands.

Head to the Showbag Pavilion and check out the awesome showbags on offer that are sure to impress.

Coast into Sideshow Alley to try your hand at the games or enjoy family rides like the dodgem cars, and then to kiddies’ corner for a spin on the merry-go-round.
