DIRECTOR’S NOTE Welcome to the first show of the 2026 -2027 Piedmont University Mainstage Theatre Season, The Addams Family Musical! Getting to direct this show is like being a kid again. I was a child in the 1960's. I was glued to our black and white TV watching The Addams Family, The Munsters and Dark Shadows. (Was I a creepy kid? Maybe.) My siblings and I often argued about who would get to watch their favorite show. I fought for The Addams Family because I saw characters standing up for their family members. I saw a family adapt to that ever-curvy road of change. Ultimately, I saw family members love each other unconditionally. I have always thought that The Addams Family is THE family! I am blessed to be a part of the Piedmont University Theatre Family. This family inspires me on a daily basis and the love and trust that they have for each other fills my heart with true happiness. But we can NOT do it alone. We need you, our audience. Without you, theatre does not exist. So, welcome to the family! May you find joy, laughter, and community in our theatre family.
