Things started off great, I met my best friend. A shiny new ring he gifted to me… They say all good things must come to an end.

Throughout life, with love, we might overspend. You will lose people—they die or they flee, So bridges we burn, we must try to mend.

“Don’t hurt those close to you,” I recommend. I cheated my love; love then set him free. They say all good things must come to an end.

These bridges, burnt, I can no longer mend. A shiny grey gravestone waits here for me, So bridges we burn, we must try to mend.

Our lives have a timer, and a dead-end, So make the most of it, love is for free. They say all good things must come to an end— So bridges we burn, we must try to mend.
