"Phoenix was my fifth workshop experience with Tony. I have taken quite a few other photography workshops, but none compare to the Photographer's Breakthrough ones.
I have always hated to see them come to an end because it feels like my creative juices are flowing and have yet to peak. The assignments that Tony gives us both personally and as a group, and the wonderful daily group critiques are always so empowering.
It is impossible to come to the end of a P/B workshop and not realize that you have grown in ways that you could never have imagined. Tony has a real gift for teaching."

"If you are up for spending a week surrounded by a diverse group of people on their own photographic journey and guided by someone who gently nudges/pushes you to find your own artistic voice and vision, then the PB experience is for you.
For me, I get to leave my busy life behind for a week and just focus on photography.
Working with Tony has taught me that how I see the world through the camera lens is uniquely my own and that taking creative risks and failing is part of the learning process. This might not make any sense, but what amazes me is how Tony sees something in each of us that we don't see in ourselves, and he pushes us in a supportive and encouraging manner to that place that may make us feel uncomfortable or vulnerable but, in the end, leads to our own personal breakthroughs."

"Photographers Breakthrough has been one of the coolest ways to experience a new city truly, and I return with so many photos as a souvenir!
Tony has a way of encouraging as well as challenging all his students. He taught me new techniques that have elevated my experience as a photographer - when I felt stuck at a location, his nudge to try something new with my camera or a change in my perspective was immediately inspiring.
Shooting for a critique may be intimidating, but Tony has a way of making you feel comfortable with your current skills while helping you improve your work through photo processing or future-in-the-field composition. I've also learned so much by just hearing critiques of other students' work!
If you're in a rut, I highly recommend taking them up on the breakthrough. I returned home refreshed and energized!"
