Community Forever As we make plans to realise long-held ambitions for Phoenix Arts, I’m reminded of the wonderful community that has supported us in our transition to becoming an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation. This community has applauded our progress and encouraged me to look closer to home for talent to develop. Reflecting on this encouragement, I’d like to highlight 3 community-influenced opportunities to engage with us. Our 2024 Spring Art Exhibition follows the success of our first open exhibition in October, with 20 artists submitting 130 pieces of work and 100 people attending the grand opening, showing their support for local artist opportunities. In March 2024, I’ll be launching a new project called Every Other Mother in partnership with Sally McIlhone. A young mum herself, Sally and I want to offer a safe space for mums to express themselves creatively. It’ll be kid friendly and for women only! The third community-influenced opportunity I’d like to highlight is our Dragonfly Accessible Disco & Party. Building on our disability arts programme and influenced by the incredible Frozen Light, this sensory explosion of taste, smell and sound is about having fun. I look forward to your next visit and whatever your cultural tastes, Phoenix Arts is local and guided by you.

Phoenix Players
Mondays & Thursdays 7:30 PM - 10:00 PM All Are Welcome The Phoenix Players are an Amateur Dramatics Group based at The Phoenix Theatre. They stage a number of wide-ranging shows during the year, including plays, musicals, comedies, and their popular pantomime (every January). They welcome anyone who wants to get involved, so why not pop along and get to know the group at one of their socials? They have social events throughout the year and have regular workshops or karaoke nights when they’re not rehearsing their next show. If being on stage isn’t your thing, get involved elsewhere. The Players always need set builders, painters, costumers and makeup artists – not to mention lighting and sound wizards. When rehearsing a show, they meet Mondays and Thursdays 7:30-10:00 PM at The Phoenix Theatre. Red Riding Hood - Phoenix Players Pantomime Join Red Riding Hood for an exciting adventure full of fun on a journey with her friends through the deep, dark forest to Granny’s house. Unfortunately, the big Bad Wolf has other ideas... He’s crafty and cunning, setting out to undo Red’s plans and feast on Granny and Red for supper.

Little Dudes Tuesdays 4:45 PM - 5:30 PM (During Term Time) Suitable For Ages 4 - 6 | Price: £49.20 Per Half Term They will learn an understanding of music and beats, learning a basic 8 count which will be adapted through the classes. Most importantly with Little Dudes we aim for creativity, imagination and fun whilst learning the latest Hip-Hop moves and working as a team to form routines with a beginning and end.
Street Poppers Tuesdays 5:30 PM - 6:15 PM (During Term Time) Suitable For Ages 7 - 8 | Price: £49.20 Per Half Term Street Poppers is a gateway between Little Dudes and Street Stompers. Street Nation begin to introduce floor work and skill based activities whilst continuing to develop the skills they have learnt at Little Dudes. Learning and setting the groundwork for them to move on to Street Stompers with more intricate moves.
Street Stompers Tuesdays 6:15 PM - 7:00 PM (During Term Time) Suitable For Ages 9 - 11 | Price: £49.20 Per Half Term In this class Street Nation takes the 8 beats further to include half beats, creating more layers to a routine. The moves become more intricate, and Street Nation begins to introduce cannons and formations. Street Nation also encourages time for the Street Stompers to create their own choreography. 26

Phoenix Membership: A yearly membership costs £15.00 per person for adults, £7.50 for concessions and £30.00 for a family membership. Parking: All our venues have parking nearby. The Phoenix Theatre has FREE parking with disabled bays at the rear of the building. The Cube utilises The Shed’s parking which is pay on exit, with the first 2 hours FREE and also free after 6pm. Bar: The Phoenix Theatre has a fully licensed bar which opens an hour before each performance.
