Lately, my studio practice has been shaped by my experience being in my first queer relationship. Having been working on my first creative collaboration with my partner and whilst thinking about the collaboration of queer lovers, I have been revisiting my interest in artists Claude Cahun and Marcel Moore. Inspired by their acts of creative protest against the Nazis, I have begun to think more deeply about the ‘use’ of being an artist. Having indulged in the making of art for art’s sake that a degree has allowed I am now starting to ponder how to be of use to the world, even in a small sense, through a fine art lense.
