NEEED Keeps Helping Mayor Jim Kenney’s Daughter Struts!

NEEED Of Philadelphia Continues Tradition Of Awarding Scholarships For Higher Education Networking for Equal Education and Economic Development, otherwise known as NEEED of Philadelphia, whose mission is to provide financial assistance to students seeking higher education and encouraging volunteerism within the Philadelphia School District and communities, hosted its annual Scholarship Recognition & Reception Ceremony on Jan. 3 at Tasker Street Missionary Baptist Church. NEEED awarded scholarships to five students from Philadelphia. Additionally, four former scholarship recipients were awarded Last Dollar Stipends to be used for unforeseen educational expenses. In total, $3250 was distributed. In addition to scholarships, this
past June NEEED awarded $150 to students attending G. W. Childs and Universal Audenreid Charter Schools, who volunteered within their community and excelled academically. NEEED of Philadelphia is in its 23rd year of providing financial assistance to students seeking higher education and to date, has provided assistance to over 153 students, in addition to providing savings bonds or checks to over 75 students within the Philadelphia School District for volunteering within their schools or communities. NEEED has been able to continue its mission through grants provided by Councilman Kenyatta Johnson and Enterprise Holdings Foundation, and of course
