BVM will close on March 25, 2012, one day after its annual Feast of Annunciation. The Blue Ribbon Commissibon Commission has recommended it merge with Saint Nicholas of Tolentine, but a group of people plan to appeal that decision.

This year, though, the date could mark the day its doors are shuttered. Annunciation BVM is slated for convergence with St. Nicholas of Tollentine -- as recommended by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s Blue Ribbon Commission report -- on Mar. 25, 2012. However, a group of concerned parents, parishioners and alumni are fighting against the decision. The group will hold a protest and meeting on Sunday. They hope, come the fifth week of Lent, the elementary school will be saved from the shutters. (Cont. Page 2)
